If it were up to you to create an area for a future Pokémon game of sorts--whether it be in main series or spin-off--what kind of location would you be making? What would you call it? What are some of its features going to be? If it's a route, cave, tunnel, or anything else of the like, what sort of wild Pokémon would this particular place be housing? How would you imagine its theme song to sound?

Also, would any event occur here? If so, how will it be executed?

I am trying to think of something, but whatever I come up with, I realize Hoenn has it lmao. Best region ever.

    it only misses canyon lol

I'm thinking of a city that surrounds a large lake that has a cave entrance in the middle of it lake. That sounds like something not done beforehand. I suppose Sootopolis is sort of similar, but it would be much more flat, you wouldn't have to surf to the other side, and you could walk to it instead of needing to Dive or Fly.

If it were up to me, I'd have a small town, which is on a huge spaceship-like platform and is floating in air. The ship gets its energy via sun and moonlight, as well as rain and snow. When it runs out of them, it falls to the ground, but very, very slowly so that nothing gets damaged. Not sure how possible this might sound, but since this is Pokémon we're speaking of, I suppose we're able to incorporate almost anything we wish? They've implemented much more weird things before, such as N's castle, which rises above from underground.

I'd kill to see such a thing, honestly. It'd give us a futuristic feel, and would bring something interesting to the table all together. As far as events go, this is where we'd get to fight the region's electric-type Gym Leader. This person also specializes in flying, but won't be using any of his flying-type Pokémon until you defeat Elite Four and Champion and ask for a rematch.

I'd like its theme to resemble Slateport City from Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald.

I'd like to see a tomb. A haunted tomb, with trick walls and doors, hidden traps (pitfalls, boulders, switches which makes walls close in and either change your path or cut it off entirely) and maybe even skeletons possessed by ghost Pokemon to act as trainers. They could even add some Distortion World-type features to it as well - rooms where gravity gets turned on its ear and you have to walk along walls, etc.

Naturally, if you made a wrong move, you'd get teleported back to the entrance...or you could white out and wake up in the Pokemon Center as if you'd lost a battle. Depending on the theme and architecture of said tomb, you could have any number of events surrounding it, too. If it was a ruin, you could have the Regis in it, or even Arceus - if you had to collect each of the plates beforehand, those could be used to unlock more of the place as you progressed. Something more akin to a crypt would make a fantastic place for Darkrai to be in.

Pokemon has touched on each of these things in the past, but we've never really had a place where human bodies get buried, be it a modern graveyard or an old-fashioned tomb. Pokemon would surely haunt these places just as readily as their own burial grounds, and could wreak all kinds of mischief pretending to be the spirits of the dead, or making traps that much more unpredictable. Might be a bit dark, but variety is fun, right?

That sounds pretty scary, but such a location would definitely be interesting to see! Giratina's cave in Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum (can't exactly put my finger on its name) is sort of similar, so they would likely be able to base it off that and keep adding more features and whatnot. Darkrai residing here would make sense; places like this are what you'd see in nightmares, which is something Darkrai is affiliated with.
