Your opinion on iPods?

It's not really something you can get the hang of right away. It took me a while to be able to use it so I could get to what I wanted easily and without skipping it. It took me a while to be able to play that one guy on the parachute gun game on there too -_-;

It's a tiny electronic, it's not gonna be absolutely 100% perfect for everyone.
True, but I have the feeling it would be like a console gamer trying to beat a PC gamer in a sniping match.
I just like buttons, and like they say, "don't fix what isn't broken" (that's not to say iPods are 'broken'), so I'm sticking with my buttoned devices and saving trouble for another time. :0

Honestly I don't see what is so special about an IPod. Yes they might be "a must have for all music lovers", but my mp3 player works fine, plays movies, stores files, everything that an IPod can do, mine does the same, and at half the cost.

From what I've heard from this thread the main thing that poeple are complaining about with iPods is the price, and to be honest the only to models that are truly expensive are the Classic and the Touch. the Nano and the Shuffle are much cheaper and reletively the same price as most other Mp3 players out there from sony and Microsoft, and whatever and they have the same amount of memory. However, the Classic has a right to be a little more expensive, It's got space that no other Mp3 player on the market has (80/160Gb)other than the 80Gb Zune, which is the same price. While I do agree that most of the time people don't need that much space for their media Library, it's also nice to have a little Backup drive for those who don't have a regular backup to an external HDD or DvDs. (The price is also understandable for the Touch since it has more technology in it (ei: touchscreen, apps, contacts, youtube, etc..)plus it has wifi access.)

From what Ive read here Equilibrium says iPod = MP3 Player. Yes The iPod is just a MP3 Player with the Apple logo on the back.

You can find MP3 players by other manufacturers that have the same features but the one thing that sets the iPod apart is that its a complete package.

No other MP3 Player manufacturer Makes the complete package of Hardware, Software and Content Delivery System.

The Fact that you Buy an iPod and can manage everything through iTunes and have the ease of buying and syncing media from the iTunes store just makes the whole thing a great experience.

So yes the iPod is just an MP3 player but its the ecosystem Apple has built around it that makes it what it is.

That said, if Microsoft would put some effort into the Zune, they would have a real competitor right there. Since Microsoft controls Windows, they could easily integrate it better with the OS and make a great experience there too.

EDIT: As for who needs 80GB+ of space on a MP3 player, remember that video eats up huge amounts of space. So on the iPod/Zune you need that space for Video content.
