Your opinion on iPods?

Personally I think the iPod is pretty bland as far as features go, it does the same as any other good MP3 player.

The iPhone on the other hand is a different story, it trumps all IMO. While it is a phone, it's still an MP3 player so it counts.

I don't have an iTouch but I do have an iPod nano, i've expereienced other MP3 players and they are more fragile, hard to use, horrible screens, and no accessories unlike the iPod which has 100's of accessories. (and when was the last time you saw an MP3 player with 160 gigs(40,000 songs))

iPod > MP3 Players

When Will i be carrying round 40000 songs with me?
then again why would I want to. I would get to listen to 100 max.

My creative Zen vplus is 4gb. It can hold all the sons I need and it only cost £48.
Its survived being thrown up in the air about 20ft landing on concrete.

My friends ipod died from him dropping it out his pocket.

I'd hazard a guess that's because your Zen has no moving parts, whereas your friends iPod used a hard drive... Dropping anything with small / fragile moving parts generally leads to breakage! :)

Anyway, on topic, I love my iPhone. Could do with some more storage space, but it's otherwise its neat. It lets me dispense with carrying a phone, and my ipod. Both of which I used to carry everywhere.

Looking forward to my 3G iphone next month, will get rid of another gadget!

:)

I have three iPods.

Video/Nano.
Shuffle.
iTouch.

I couldn't function without an iPod. I really feel that iPods are a lot better than mp3 players. Most mp3 players are ugly. There's itunes to get music though I download off of limewire. Apple has been very helpful when I broke two iPods. iPods have games and many other functions[internet!]. In my opinion, they're amazing.

I'm getting the new iPhone. I can't wait.

In my opinion, if you don't have a phone that can hold many songs and/or videos, iPods are a must. Most MP3 players just can't stand up. My sister's iPod Nano has outlived 3 of my MP3 players, convincing me to buy one for myself. Unfortunately, the headphones aren't nearly as durable...

Personally, I'd rather carry around an iPod than a CD player and thrity bajillion CD's.

That and you could just pop that puppy in your ear when your parents are listening to uber country. Comes in handy down south, y'all! ;D

I have the new nano. I wubz eet. :3

I don't like their control mechanism — the circle the user has to ring their finger around; I find it uncomfortable and unprecise.
Thus I don't own an iPod and would never consider getting one.

It's not really something you can get the hang of right away. It took me a while to be able to use it so I could get to what I wanted easily and without skipping it. It took me a while to be able to play that one guy on the parachute gun game on there too -_-;

It's a tiny electronic, it's not gonna be absolutely 100% perfect for everyone.

I think iPods are great and usefull to use because, any kind of GBs iPods are always great but, also to get one of the MOST GBs iPods. iPod Videos are really usefull, they can really hold more GBs then normal iPods and you can get some of your favorite shows and movies on the iPod Video (well they don't have ALL the movies and shows from TV but, you can get some from the iPod store from your computer).

I have a 30 GB Black I-Pod of the 5th Generation. It works fine, and it's a pretty good toy especially someone like me who listens to music 8 hours a day ^^'
I only have one thing against it...

THE BATTERY CHARGING METHOD S*CKS!

Buy a mains charger then, although I have to agree they should really have included one with the iPod.

I got a shuffle as a Christmas gift from my colleague, and I have to say, although it's really, REALLY a pain in the rear to scroll to a desired song, it works perfectly fine. If you're willing to dish out the extra cash for an iPod system with a screen, then that solves the problem entirely. Personally though, if I really felt the need to, I'd go out and get an mp3 player with a screen from a different brand for a fraction of the price. It's all storage space baby. That's all it is.

I know the iPod Touch is pretty cool, but it's waaay overpriced. I'm not going to pay $300+ USD for a touch screen. And the iPhone is just as senseless. For that much, you can get a FREAKING CELL PHONE that does everything the iPhone does and more, for a fraction of the price. iPhones aren't special at all. Touch screens have been around, and have been done better.

Although iPods are great, everyone uses them.

I still like them though. xP

What an anti-conformist we have here :D!
It took me a sec to try and understand what you means and I still don't really XD;

I'm not going to be getting the iPhone mainly cause I'd never use most of its features. That and the touch screen can get gummy after a while. Ew ;;

iPods are not only able to be used as an mp3 player. You can use it to back up files, sort of as an external harddrive. Just enable disk mode. I use mine to backup important files, and I love it. I have an 80 gig, so its perfect for my music, some videos, and important files. I also utilize the calander and address book by syncing it with my mac.

In short, the iPod > normal mp3 players, in my opinion.

Not really all that special, any mp3 player can do that.

And the iPod IS a normal mp3 player. Apple fanboys just seem to fail to grasp that concept.

I respect Apple fans' opinions, but I just hate how you guys are always saying iPods do way more than a normal mp3 player. There's a lot of mp3 players on the market right now that use hard drives, and can store documents and whatnot. Plus they're a lot cheaper. I honestly don't get the point of wasting more money just to join the iPod fad.
