This, along with Bachura/Chillarmy, is quite possibly the cutest Pokemon in existence. <3333

Yeah, Washibon is very cute :3 But I don't like Wargle. That's because of its legs, they're so long and weird, not much like bird legs. :\ If they were shorter I'd probably be a fan.

Some of my favourites:
Mijumaru, Jalorda, Shimama/Zeburaika, Erufuun, Aaken, Dasutodasu (its so epic, although not as strong as it looks), Washibon, Barujiina, Monozu/Jiheddo..

There are more I like, but those are my favourites.

There are some I really dislike though, and I'm sure they'll be overused on wi-fi because of their power -.- Like Shaburugo, I hate it.
I can't seem to like Ononokosu either, just for the fact that I know it'll be used by so many. D:

Well I see what you mean on Wargle, but remember it's an Eagle, and it's the only bird Pokemon based on a large bird of prey (Raptor) so it's going to have longish legs. But they do kind of resemble arms. :s

Staraptor is also based on a bird of prey (hawk) if I remember correctly.

Anyway, I recently read Wargle's Bulbapedia article that not only is it based on the (American) bald eagle, it's loosely based on the Philippine eagle as well.

I'm also starting to take a liking to Nattorei because of the spiky balls at the ends of its whips, as well as its competitive viability.

Hawks are small birds though, in comparison with Eagles. Bald eagles have a wingspan of around 2.5 meters, (96 Inches) which is huge for a bird, and Phillipine eagles are right behind it. Bigger birds= bigger legs. xD

And yes Nattorei is one of the best defensive Pokes in Gen V. Basically Forretress wishes it was as good as Nattorei in terms of defensive capability.

When I first saw Wooguru (...idc if the official name is Wargle, I like Wooguru ;;), I thought it was a pretty awesome bird. I even kind of believed Mamepato would evolve into it, even though they had nothing in common. I love the colouring, everything and it really does look more more majestic than any other bird in Pokemon. I kind of forget about it though, which suuucks. ;;

What I do like about Wargle is that it's the only Normal/Flying Pokemon apart from Staraptor and Togekiss who gets a Fighting type move (Superpower). I would've liked it if it got Close Combat, too. It also gets Bulk Up, Crush Claw, Shadow Claw and Rock Slide, which is pretty neat. Its Speed is good, but not good enough. And yes, I think that Wargle is its official Japanese name until its English name is revealed.

True, It has arguably the best moveset of any of the Normal/Flying bird Pokemon, that's for sure. As for the English name, I'm not too sure on what it will be. I don't mind 'Wargle' as the official English name.

Minezumi / Miruhog
Concept: Cool concept. The rabies-infected eyes are pretty awesome.
Aesthetic: Low. Miruhoggu is kind of a failure for me. I... Don't want to talk about him too much. Minezumi was cool, though. He was one of my favorites in the pre-release.
Playability: Very low. He's even weaker than Raticate, which is never a good thing. In the beginning of the game, he learns Detect, which is annoying, but never really useful. He doesn't have very good abilities, and his moveset is lacking. He does learn Hypnosis, though...

Yorterrie / Haderia / Muurando
Concept: Not too unique. He's just a dog, after all, and Normal-type too. He learns Crunch and likes to play in the sand. Pretty standard, I'd think.
Aesthetic: I like Yorterrie's sprite the best. I think Haderia's looks a little too long and flat in the middle and Muurando looks funny with the big beard.
Playability: They're very strong early-game and are useful for teaching Surf and Strength later. He hasn't seen much play past the 5th gym for me personally, but Intimidate + Rugged Helmet works well in the storyline. Low stats at L100, though. He has very good abilities and can support with four status moves and use Roar.

Choroneko / Lepardas
Concept: Dark-type cat = stereotypical. Nothing too special about this guy. He learns basically the same moves as Skitty, with a few added Dark-type moves.
Aesthetic: I like Choroneko a lot more than Lepardas. I'm not really a fan of Lepardas' face and his body seems a bit too plain.
Playability: Unfortunately, Lepardas didn't get anything worthwhile in competitive. He's already fast enough for Mischievous Heart to not matter too much (and he doesn't learn too many moves to utilize that ability like Erufuun does). His stats are subpar and his moveset is sort of dull.

Yanappu / Yanakki / Boappu / Boakki / Hiyappu / Hiyakki
Concept: Very nice parallel to the starter Pokemon. Quite a nice reference to the Three Wise Monkeys, actually.
Aesthetic: The designs for the evolutions could have used some work. I think the three pre-evolved forms look great, though.
Playability: The three lines are pretty hard to use at first, since you're only provided with the weak attacks. Later on, they don't get much stronger, but you do get the chance to evolve them quickly in the storyline. Otherwise, they're all pretty much the same. They're all very fast and learn some powerful stat-up moves, mixed with okay movepools.

I never thought another generation would top the third gen pokemon wise for me....but the 5th generation has become my favourite generation. There aren't many pokemon I don't like and most of them have something interesting about them.

My big big favourites this gen would have to be Desukan & Rankurusu

Then after that I really like, Mijumaru, Jalorda, Gochiruzeru, Marakacchi, Shinpora, Swanna, Denchura, Zuruggu, Roopushin, Dageki, Hahakomori, Pendoraa, Darumakka, Ishizumai, Dasutodasu, Abagoura, Mebukijika, Nattorei, Shibirudon, Ranpuraa, Kibago, Kumasyun, Agirudaa, Maggyo, Kojondo, Goruggo, Washibon, Barujiina, Ulgamoth, Meloetta and their family members.

I may have listed an awful big amount of pokemon there, but I honestly wouldn't feel right if I didn't give them a shout. There are pokemon I didn't mention that I like too...but not enough to list them.

It's a big difference from the 4th gen, if this post was about the 4th gen I might have listed maybe 4 pokemon. (Chatot, Empoleon, Roserade, Togekiss.....)

I enjoy most of these Pokes. I'm happy that there's more electric (Shibirudon FTW!) ice and bug types this generation, and I'm excited for the game to come out in America.

In my Rom playthrough, I'm trying to decide which bug to use. I'm down to Dentula and the second-stage Hermit Crab thing. The base stats are about equal and I'm not sure which moveset I like better.

My personal favorite is Komatana, despite the Shandela avatar. It just looks B.A. imo

The only pokemon I'd say I don't particularly like are Cobalon and Gamugaru...I can tolerate them though.

Hermit Crab is much better defensively, but it lacks Denchura's speed and Resists and it doesn't hit quite as hard. Both are good, though. :)

More electric types are always a good thing. ;)

Er, I really don't recommend using Rockycrab. He's just not all that good, whereas Denchura definitely is. Her greatest asset is a kickass ability, and a wicked typing (seriously, it's hard to remember what this thing is weak to, lol). It is true that her stats aren't amazing, but she gets the job done. Actually, if we're being honest, every single bug this generation is better than Rockycrab: both Hahakomori and Pendora have better attack/speed, and equally decent defenses, Aianto and Shubarugo have better defensive typing and equally good defensive stats, Agirudaa can actually sweep, and Denchura/Urugamosu have awesome typings and good stats where it matters. The only thing that Rockycrab has going for him is 125 def (big friggin' whoop) and Rock Wrecker; offensively, he's outclassed by Armaldo x10, and defensively, you're better off with Forretress or Shubarugo. Honestly, just don't bother with him; even his design isn't all that great, which is a shame, because I adore his pre-evo, but when he evolves... it just doesn't work for me, at all, I dunno why. :>

Iwaparesu reminds me of Torterra because they carry pieces of land on their backs. What I don't like about Iwaparesu is that when it evolves from Ishizumai, it loses some Speed.

Officially my favorite Gen V Pokemon

So it made an appearance in the anime already? Wow, can't wait to load up the episode and watch it for myself. I like this Pokémon though, the dark red/magenta, purple rings and black lower part all fit together just fine. I consider it another one of the best designs for Gen V. Might actually use one for my team if not in future restarts as I planned to have many Pokémon on my team but still need a final retake. XD;
