Your Past and Present Starters

Blue - Squirtle (I always loved it in the show, and it was blue, so...)
Red - Charmander (Bulbasaur is a dork.)

Silver - Cyndaquil (ADORABLE <3)
Gold - Cyndaquil (See above.)
Crystal - Cyndaquil (Why mess with perfection? ;3 )

Ruby - Mudkip (MUDKIPZ.)
Emerald - Torchic (I ended up liking it better than Mudkip later.)
FireRed - Squirtle (It's always a good choice.)

Pearl - Chimchar (Ohai D/P, where are all the other fire types?)
Platinum - Piplup (Hooray for being able to pick up a Houndour! :3 )
 
Let's see...

Yellow - Pikachu, who else? But out of the starters that I was given in the game, I chose Charmander.
Silver - Cyndaquil, 'cause I thought he was cute
Sapphire - Torchic, because I luffs teh chickens.
LeafGreen - Charmander, since I'm not a fan of Squirtle or Bulbasaur. (I'm starting to notice a pattern of my choice of starter...)
Pearl - Piplup! Because she looks so huggable! And for once I didn't like a fire starter.

Green- Bulbasaur (I got green imported from Japan back in the day, I never really played it because I didn't understand it, but it was cool to have)
Gold- Totodile (Feraligator owned)
Silver- Totodile (favorite starter other than Squirtle)
Crystal - Cyndaquil ( I wanted a change)
Ruby- Torchic
Sapphire- Mudkip
Emerald- Treeko
Diamond- Piplup
Platinum- Turtwig

Emerald - Mudkip, but now I want Treecko!

I really don't like fire types, their just overrated. :(

Crystal - Chikorita then i got tired of her and chose Totodile (hes better and Feraligatr kix ass!)
Sapphire - Treeko. cuz i like absord and it gave me a nice advantage over kyogre
Emerald - Torchic. Has to be my favorite starter. (not favorite fire type)
LeafGreen - Chamander, my first time on Japanease version was auctually Bulbasour.
Diamond - Piplup, then i saw it sucks and deleted the game (played on emulator, barely got to Eterna city)
Platinum - Piplup, but I'm trading a friend and he gives me Totodile instead so i will go with totodile. so my starter is Totodile (Best water starter in my opinion)
 
Starters

I loved fire Pokemon so there is a large trend until Diamond and Platinum:
Red-Charmander
Yellow-Pikachu(of course)
Gold-Cyndaquil
Ruby-Torchick
Fire Red-Charmander
Diamond-Piplup
Platinum-Turtwig
 
well I think at some point I've chosen them all at least once but as for which ones I generally start with I'd have to say this

Blue-Bulbasaur (I'm always loved grass pokemon from the start)
Red-Bulbasaur/Squirtle (Usually I started with Bulbasaur, but when I owned both I'd start with Squirtle in order to have it in my Blue version)
Silver-Cynderquil (I just liked the look of him)
Gold-Chickorita (I loved grass, but I loved Cynderquil more, so I traded Chickorita to Silver as soon as I had the chance)
Yellow-ISN'T IT OBVIOUS :o
Crystal-Totodile (I just wanted to play through with him)
Sapphire-Treeko (Grass-duh)
If I were to play the new ones I'd probably be stuck between Piplup and Turtwig (I love penguins, but Turtwig does look kinda appealing)

Crystal- Cyndaquil (though I used the trick to get all three
Ruby- Mudkip
Emerald- Well, I found a used copy of the game and am playing through the current file, which would make it Torchic, but eventually I'll start over and choose Mudkip again...
Diamond- Turtwig

just know that I always choose the Fire starter.

Emerald and Sapphire are still by far the best :P along with Ruby. I love those starters.
 
I have always gone with the fire type:
Red: Charmander
Yellow: Charmander
Gold: Cyntaquil
Chrystal: Cyntaquil
Ruby:Torchic
Emerald: Torchic
FireRed: Charmander
Diamond: Chimchar
Platinum: Chimchar
(Has anyone else noticed that the fire pokemon starter always starts with a "C" except for Torchic?)
R/G/B/Y/FR/LG - C-C-C
G/S/C - C-Q-T
R/S/E - T-C-B
D/P/P - C-M-I
 
Red - Bulbasaur (I just love Bulbasaur and its evolutions.)
Blue - Charmander (A Normal-type challenge so I'm not using it, unfortunately.)
Emerald - Mudkip (Swampert is nicer than Sceptile, and I have used Blaziken way too many times.)
Diamond - Piplup (As I had already had Turtwig I had to choose between Piplup and Chimchar - and I don't really like Chimchar yet I love Piplup.)

Those are what I have right now in my games. But of course, because the type doesn't matter to me, I have tried out all the possible starters there are in the games, except for Chimchar.
 
Blue: Charmander - I like fire-types :P
Gold: Chicorita - idk... i just picked it
Crystal: Totodile - just picked a water-type for a change :S
Ruby: Torchic - Back to the fires!
Pearl: Chimchar - see above -.-
 
Silver - Totodile - cute and playful
Diamond - Chimchar - Awsome looking love Infernape
Platnium (wen it comes out) - Chimchar Again sme reason
