If you're ever doubting yourself, or your achievements, mistakes, regrets in life, just think to yourself that you will make something of yourself someday, somehow, no matter how long it takes. Don't ever let people get in your way, people may hate you, dislike you, upset you, but in the grand scheme of things, none of it matters. You're alive. You've got Internet access. You're not living in poverty. I'd assume you have a home, or at least somewhere to go. And somewhere someday, or now even, someone cares about you. Your existance will never go unnoticed - people will remember you for things, whether they be bad or good. You've somehow contributed to life as we know it, whether just being a number / statistic or something more. You never know what life holds and one day people will appreciate you for a great achievement. It may never be online, it might even be at the end of your life, but either way, all of you are important human beings no matter what people say and you will all get the appreciation you deserve one day.

Pretty much...this thread is motivation for feeling positive about yourself and your life. Though I do pose a question, too, what makes you feel successful? How often do people say nice things, let you know you're appreciated, etc?

What really makes me feel successful is when I do something anybody has hardly done (Getting good grades, Helping people out, etc.)
I get a some appreciation at my house (Family members) and at school.

My Mum finds it really hard to express pride because of growing-up factors, so whenever she properly congratulates me on something or says she's proud of me it makes me feel double-plus good because I know she had to really be brave to do it, which means she means it. On the other hand, my Dad congratulates me on every tiny little thing to over-compensate. And he's only sometimes joking.

Getting good grades always made me feel good at school because I was in a house group full of people who didn't care about passing their exams, so again the teachers placed a lot of emphasis on whenever I got an A. Fortunately they never did it in front of anybody else, or I would have spent most of my school-life battered to heck. XD At university the feeling of achievement came from starting a good discussion topic in seminars. Especially if it moved on to hypothesising that Sherlock Holmes was born on Mars. (We once spent half a seminar discussing this seriously before our lecturer cottoned on and declared he was a pod-person instead. Cue arguments to the contrary.)

Now...I will only feel successful when I manage to procure a job. 32 rejections and counting. Sigh. =(
