There is a time in life when you realize something. This moment can come at anytime and almost anywhere. You could be walking in Wal-Mart and then realize it like a ninja attack. Then you say to yourself, "I am old..."

I am not sure if everybody can take part in this tread but I am sure that some of the older age members can say some things about this topic. What are some moments in your life that you realize that you are old?

When you can no longer understand half of what the newer members are posting due to the excessive use of a few letters as possible and numbers as letters.

I realized I was very old when I was 13...

but then I unrealized that after my pits hyperblew.

When I find myself wanting to play with baby toys and watching baby shows >_>

    I blame my cousins.

I can also tell my dad is OLD cause his hair is grey and he is FAT and he SLEEPS all day, just like my mom!

    1. This year when I realized that my next birthday would bring me out of the teen years forever. Damn that was depressing.

    2. When in one of those "when did you first get into Pokemon?" threads that pop up every so often, some kids on PC answered "when I got Pearl as my first Pokemon game". It didn't seem so bad back when people said Gen 3 was their first but... daaamn. Or the kids who say they grew up with May on the anime instead of Misty.

    3. Stopping suddenly in a store with my mom when I realized that I was getting really excited over the prospect of buying a laundry basket and some kitchen supplies.

    4. ...this thread. :(

When I see my time on PC, comparing myself to how I came here, to how I live my life here, and saying to me in a mirror: "dude, you're getting older, you know. Don't waste these remaining years, nor let them go by..." even though I'm just about to turn 18, which will take me of my teen years drastically

Also, when I remember that my first Pokémon Games played were Red and Yellow, as well as remembering how the game mechanics were back then. O_O

Sometimes, I think about that, and it does really get to me, enough to get me down for a while...

I've always thought that you know you're young when you wish you were older... and you're old when you wish you were younger.

    Wow...

I just note some of the ones I remember. THere are a lot more but I find these a lot.

-The first time when I was 19 or 18 and some little kid at Wal-Mart said, "Excuse me sir." and then walked off. The sir caught me by surprise since I have never been called sir by a little kid.

-THe one that is most recent is when I saw a little kid with a stuff pikachu and realize that I have been a pokemon fan longer then that kid has been alive.

    Man...I feel old now.

Realizing my First Edition First gen charizard can't be used in tournaments(thus making all 2000 cards I have just for collecting).
The fact that I have to explain the Anime before AG to my cousin.
I have to teach my cousins how to build a proper team.
The fact that I am finishing school in 2 years tops just makes me go damn where did the fun days go.

I realized that I was getting old when my niece was turning 3 years old and I couldn't and can't see her since I'm in school in the northern part of Minnesota.

I will have my 17th birthday soon, and I already feel kinda old. ._. weird, I know. But I don't want to be an adult, so that is probably the reason why I won't be happy about my 18th birthday in one year. -.-' blergh.

OT:Oh hey, it's been a while since last talked to you. :O

On topic: Those are two of the reason I'd like to fill in. =/ Firs time I was called a Lady (not sir, lady) by a young mother and her very young child, made me feel old. I was 17 at that time.
Most of the kids runing around playing with Pokémon Cards or Diamond/Pearl have hardly experienced the early days of Pokemon. I see everything that has pokemon on it. Hoenn and Sinnoh are omnipresent, while Johto and Kanto are nearly forgotten in the merchandise. I wonder how many of those kids that talk about catching Arceus or Dialga/Palkia, actually talk about Ho-oh, Lugia or Suicune or how their Pikachu was angry with them when playing Yellow. I guess it's close to Zero. (HG and SS will bring difference in that)

Actually people talking about the new Pokemon makes me feel old. XD I'm not interested in Sinnoh anymore... Johto was the best.

    *chuckle*
Or now than I'm in university, I can't do things the way I liked them to do. Going out with my friends from high school is brought back to a bare minimum when there's a rare free day around.
And realising that next year I'll be no teenager anymore

And I've seen a lot of people leave this forums, to never return. =/ Some people who were really active back in 2005-2006 have left this forum.
I miss them now and then.

I got a new one. I will probably find myself to feel old when playing hgss and being able to not look at the screen from knowing everything.

    I once said "back in my day" in proper conversation without a hint of irony. My aunt was telling me about how my younger cousin who is still in primary school had to use the Internet to do her homework. "Back in my day we had to colour in the countries on maps or make stuff from tissue roll tubes and eggboxes" was what I said. D;

    Well, in about a year or so, I'm gonna be 20. Typing that alone seems really weird, so I guess I just realized I'm actually quite old ;____;

I only have one short thing to say:

You are ALL young still - enjoy it.

where the fck is my cane now?

Haha yeah I think a lot of us had to do that and now its all digital. Also the fact that I used to watch in the states tv in analog and not digital makes me feel old. Damn where did the years go.

You're only old if you make yourself feel old... I'm going to stay young forever !!
Haha says me , the one who freaked out because her next birthday is her 20th haha.
