Has anyone else had any or all of their good videos distorted by You-tube? be it muted or deleted completely?

I have one that is banned in some countries. and all but 3 are muted.

This has me super Pissed! Honestly! who is the Fing whistle blower?! WTF gives a flying F!

I for one would like to know and kill them, slowly!

    who else?

I chuckled. Its called copyright issues my friend and there is nothing we can do about it.

Dude... are you fallowing me or something? I see you where ever i am.

I have had an episode of a game walkthrough pulled because Sony claimed a Nintendo product. (the episode in question being an episode of Super Mario RPG) Furthermore, I didn't even mix in new music--it was the existing music in game.

You know, I don't see what the problem is. If you don't upload something that people are likely to want pulled, you won't have any problems. e.g., I've only uploaded videos of games that are no longer supported by their copyright holders, videos of games who'se owners do little to nothing in the way of having them removed from Youtube, anime from defunct companies where copyright owership is murky, and anime from companies who do little to nothing in the way of having them removed from youtube. (Plus, I avoid posting episodes and stick ot eh OP and end) I also don't upload music tracks. The real question should be why Youtube has never removed a single video I reported because they linked people to keygens for various programs.

YES, around 9 of my videos are muted, 80% of them being FFXII AASNG videos. It gets meh angry. >:(

Most of my vids are okay though. ^_^ And I disputed a claim once which actually did work.

Youtube was originally set up as a video tube site about you, i.e. the user, on which to post home videos.
I now refer you to Todoroki Is' post.

Thankfully, I have pretty much been "lucky" enough to avoid having any of my videos removed...even though I honestly have no idea why they would be, or why YouTube would even bother. I can think of a few people I know, though, whose videos have been taken down or muted for the strangest reasons.

Still, it never hurts to be prepared, which is why I never delete any of the actual video files in case I need to upload them again.

I have been here for only a year now with over 4000 posts. I would think that means I am all over the place. But anyway as stated it was originally for use as an online video source but now its an unbearable minefield of mudkipz sparta over 9000 and internet memes. Oh and lets not forget bad music videos and stupid teens doin stupid stuff on the internet. Oh how quality has declined in the years that have passed. Anyway its just a matter of copyright isssues. but you know copyright issues are silly who needs laws right? Wrong! I for one am in favor of youtube doing this. Maybe now youtube can have quality again.

um honestly what's the point in having a site to view videos when videos are removed constantly? o.o

besides, "user generated content" is really boring. i DON'T want to see 5 girls doing the caramelldansen in their livingroom, thanks! and don't get me started on "amvs"

anyway, the ending to a movie i uploaded was muted because the song in the credits infringed rights. i edited it to remove the credits and they left the video alone

Actually, only if what you put on are on DVD's or CD's that can be bought would be pulled. I discovered this, as Youtube user Trippynet has uploaded all of the episodes of Have I Got News For You that aren't on DVD, and he's fine.

it still seems incredibly dumb :( putting a price on the internet

    all the things i've uploaded are from my dvds and cds exactly. if i own it, i should be able to let anyone i want see it ;-;

No you shouldn't. I for one hate youtube for that reason. If you are an artist of music or television or movies youtube is your enemy. Immoral idiots that post music or videos give an open free source to people to listen or view such things. Through that they say screw it why pay for it when I have it for free on the internet! Which helps in denting wallets and such. Sure it might not seem so but youtube is what makes me hate the internet. I mean its much more satisfactional to save up here and there and then go buy the CD of your favorite band or the dvd of your loved movies. Call me nuts but I just think like that. And while yes I do have music off the internet and such(who doesnt?) I am one of the few who at least is smart enough to go buy the damn thing.

    long post eh o.o

and um, i enjoy buying things too, but if i bought i, i therefore should have a right to share it? if people want to be lazy and download several hours worth of anime for free, then let them do it

What of videos of people playing video games, then? The video is actually of something that the uploader himself/herself has done and thus owns the rights to, yet there are people in the world who will easily settle for only watching a playthrough of a game and refuse to pay any money for it because of that. Do you believe that those videos should be taken down because of it, despite the skill or technique shown in the video usually belonging to the actual user?

No I support those. Cause people would go out and by the game if it seems good enough.

They may own their gameplay but not the game they are playing, so it is still disputable by the copyright holder.
