Yugioh and the current meatgame. Discussion

Sixth Sense = Trap version of *SUPER UBAR BAN ME PLEASE* Graceful Charity.

Why the heck will anyone name anything other than 5 or 6... you either deck thin by a good amount, or draw so many cards that you've just won the game. We don't even need to debate this card to know that it has to go.

They banned Graceful Charity because of its good draw power on top of deck thinning. Sixth Sense can double the effect of whatever Graceful Charity can do, and the only con about it is that it's "Jinzo unfriendly." (So what if Jinzo eats it alive? I'm risking all I can get for a deck thin of max-4 or a draw of max-6 in one card)

Imagine how Asia is plagued with sixth sense when Chaos is still running around with their precious BLS unbanned... (well unless BLS is the one who got deck thinned, and if that's the case, well too bad, ahaha ^^; )

Yeah. Imagine how bad they feel when they have The Warrior Returning Alive in their hand. Jinzo is not that powerful anymore.

Yeah so what's there to discuss about Sixth Sense if we're so fully aware of its brokenness =p

What do you think of this deck? As a example >=o

Oh yeah. frostweaver, did you get my post up there about the Warrior Returning Alive?

And... what's in that deck except it's a strange attempt to throw "good cards" into "one deck" when in reality those "good cards" don't work too-too well with each other?

Yes I did get your post.

Jinzo is powerful enough to stop one of the two recursion cards along with evil Sakuretsu, Torrential, and any other specific-theme tech-traps. It's still pretty darn good.

On another side note, being the faithful pojo reader as I am, they actually speculated that zombie will go *down* and not up with the new ban list. Their reasoning is that beastdown and its insane attack speed will eat zombies alive before they can do much of anything.

Strange. I read beatdown instead of beastdown. Or Arrgo to be honest. And I am a member of their message boards also. And yes. Zombies have a high chance of of dying in the new meta.(Unless 4 people in the top 8 plays zombie).

There is one card Jinzo cannot stop. Solem Judgement.

And that deck is the championship deck of the 2005 world championship. The winner is from Greece.

6 traps + 1 being Royal Decree = EEEEHHHHHHHHH...................

o.o

What's so bad about that? I am making my deck and it will have 7 traps with a Decree. O:

It does not matter if you have a Spell or Trap negating card in your deck like Jinzo for example and you have like 10 traps. As long you know how to use them with timing and skill, it does not really matter.

And I suspose the person had decree so the opponoent wont play anything like Bottomless Trap Hole when Phoenix is special summoned by it's effect.

The thing is that those cards are serious dead-draws until you have a way to destroy your own decree. There are times where you have overestimated your opponent's ability to dispel... If you're using Jinzo and/or Decree, 5 traps maximum is the unwritten law. In the past, it's usually ring, torrential, call, and 2 sakuretsu as the standard, with the 2 sakuretsu being the ones that can be subbed out for something else (like Bottomless trap holes, and so on).

Phoenix usually rely on Jinzo and dispel cards to destroy bottomless trap holes and other removing traps, instead of royal decree. Then again, D. D. Assailant (x3) still owns you either way, and there's no way to stop Assailant from murdering Phoenix unless you're that desperate with the use of a ring of magnetism on some other junkie.

*smile?*

Meh. I still don't run Sakuretsu. I run torrential, call, 2 tornadoes, 2 bottomless, and decree for traps, with Sakuretsus and a third tornado on sideboard. If I need to kill monsters, I'll use Smashing Ground. If I need to stop attacks, I'll play enemy controller. If I played any more traps than this, Decree and Nephthys would screw me over...both of which I run.

Yes Nephthys works EXTREMELY WELL in a warrior deck. I run three captains and two hands. That's enough to get Phoenix out almost every game.

In that deck, where are the Cyber/Morphing Jar(s)? Aren't Cyber and/or Morphing staples now? Morphing's always been a staple since TP2, it's just OBTAINABLE now.

Smashing Ground does not "stop atacks". But I know what you mean. What are bad about Sakaretsu Armor?

Morphing Jar is in there and Cyber Jar, not well with this deck, Since Maduring Captain second effect requires a normal summon. and Cyber Dragon needs no monster on your side of the field.

And no they are bot staples. Staples are cards assist help "every" deck. Not those cards help "every" deck. Even though they are draw power, that does not really mean you should run them.

*sigh* the meaning of staple has changed throughout the years. Now it's just must have or your deck sucks!

That alone, is enough to say that it's time to edit the deck... >>;

When's the last time we see tourney winners having a deck that got more than 40 cards? And that was the time when there is Pot of Greed and Graceful Charity too...
