    The U.S. government wants to make sure that in the event of a zombie invasion, you know what to do.

    That's right. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shocked us all with their post on how to prepare for the zombie apocalypse.

    The CDC post, "Preparedness 101: Zombie Apocalypse," came out Monday and has been gaining media traction since -- the link has been down for much of the day, presumingly due to over-traffic.

    From the CDC:

    Plan your evacuation route. When zombies are hungry they won't stop until they get food (i.e., brains), which means you need to get out of town fast! Plan where you would go and multiple routes you would take ahead of time so that the flesh eaters don't have a chance! This is also helpful when natural disasters strike and you have to take shelter fast.

    A CDC spokesperson told The Wall Street Journal the idea came about when a communications staffer noticed that mentioning the word 'zombie' in a Twitter session caused traffic to spike. The purpose of the post is to get people engaged, and then convey important facts about emergency preparedness.

    Hmm..this came out right before May 21st, coincidence or not? I think the government has discovered a new virus that is spreading across the population that will take control of their mind.

    My theory is just as silly as preparing for a zombie apocalypse. Seems like they're trolling us for reactions. o:

    I think they're just trying to engage the general public in an interesting, and still informative way. XD
     
    I Actually Find This Funny As The Zombie Apocalypse Won't Happen For Another Decade, Centuries, Or Thousands Of Years From Now.

    It's To Early To Think About, But Never To Late to Get Prepared For It.

    That'll seem interesting if there is a virus that can effect the Human mind that takes control of the body & the brain to do its command.

    There actually is a fungus in ants that kills them then controls their body. Zombie ants <3

    Hm, maybe it has spread. It has entered the main water supply for the U.S. in general (the Great Lakes and rivers connected) from an escaped ant that as being experimented on, and has been infecting humans!

    I've played Deadrising. I know what to do. Hide in a room until they're all gone.
    Although the ants thing is pretty cool...But no, zombies are just fictional characters like Vampires and Frankenstein's Monster and Pikachu.
     
    Why would I go to the CDC website when I can just reach for my copy of the Zombie Survival Guide and read that?

    Honestly, just hearing that the CDC has a page like that makes me laugh, but you never know. I bet the hardcore survivalists are already planning for the zombies.

    You can read me like an open book, Virgilio. I still maintain that Max Brooks is a talentless hack who's completely full of crap, but whatever.

    Anyway, the point that seems to be flying over everyone's heads: "The purpose of the post is to get people engaged, and then convey important facts about emergency preparedness." Hell, the actual CDC blog post even says as such.
     
    I can't believe why people believe that a Zombie Apocalypse is really going to happen.
    Zombies = Undead. They're like dead, but somehow they still walk?
    Zombies were just made up by George Romero

    Now, new types of Zombies were created, the Parasite Zombies, or the Undead Mutants.
    People should really find something good to believe in :)

    Even if The zombies attack dont worry the Humans HAVE BIGGER GUNS and The Werewolf could tear them apart ! Really Easy!
