Both Sean and Diane had only one Pokemon left, and a very big prize to grab if they had won, so the pressure was on both of them as there was not much they could do except give it their all with both of their strongest Pokemon. "This battle has been so long Sean, I can't wait to finish it off, and send you home without that cute, little, rare Eevee!" Diane was trying to put more and more pressure on him and force him to give up, but that obviously wasn't going to happen. "I wouldn't bet on that, Diane. I've taken on so many Trainers and have won most of them off. And my rival should be no problem at all." Sean was being smart and not bickering with her as he was too grown up for that. In return, they both just growled at each other quietly. Diane knew what Sean was going to use, as did Sean. Before they would send out their Pokemon, they both took some time to savour the moment, that one of them had to win. Sean wasn't going to take no for an answer, and was not going to give anything up and pull through whatever Diane would use. However, Diane thought differently, that she wouldn't let her Pokemon mess up and if they would make a mistake then it's all over. She wasn't so certain about it, but her confidence was high and her Pokemon was indeed a tough cookie. There was nothing else to wait for, and Sean was going to show off his Pokemon first. "Watch out Diane. This Pokemon is my strongest and I really wouldn't judge it. Show her your stuff, Growlithe!" he took out his PokeBall, and threw it to the ground, breaking Growlithe out, who sat there, very alert and quiet. Diane also had to send out her Pokemon since Sean had sent his out. "Say goodbye to Eevee, Sean! Pikachu! Don't let me down!" she got a PokeBall from her skirt and kissed it before tossing it to the ground, breaking Pikachu out. Pikachu was very energetic, and stood there, with its yellow fist out as if it were looking threatening, but Growlithe was sitting on the ground, waiting for a sudden action or command to come. Now the time had arrived, to start the battle finale between Sean and Diane.
Since it was probably the most important battle so far, Sean wanted to take the first go as a tactic to take Diane's chance away from using one of Pikachu's moves, because they were very hard to deal with. He was deciding between two of his moves that were in his mind, the ones that were Growlithe's main moves. There was also one strong move that Sean was going to save until last, that was too powerful and not ready to be used at the start of the battle, as it would get Diane started and he never knew what kind of move Pikachu had that could infact overpower Growlithe. He denied this though, and went for any move he would like but he would stick to the plan and start off with a more simple move. "Okay. Use Ember, Growlithe!" even though it was a weak Fire type move, Ember was the reason for most of his victories and it had a chance of burning the opponent, which would always help for a final battle. Pikachu was just holding its fist out while standing on its two small feet, waiting for an attack to come by. Diane couldn't help Pikachu notcie that there was an attack going to come, only thing she could do is shout. Growlithe opened its jaw, as the small wisp of fire was growing fast inside its mouth, waiting for the time it was big enough to be launched. Once it looked big enough, Growlithe hurned the ball of fire, as it left off sparks as it was travelling through the air. The ball then hit Pikachu on its cheek, as Pikachu was not fully concentrated and was still preparing. "Hey! It wasn't ready!" Diane let in, without Sean caring. The Ember didn't hurt much though, Pikachu was still in great power to make a great attack. Pikachu got back up, and Growlithe walked on back to Sean. Now it was time for Diane to choose an attack to use, and it took her not so long at all. Since he had used Ember, she had got the same idea as him and used Pikachu's signature attack. "Attack Growlithe with Thundershock!" just like Ember, it wasn't the strongest Electric move out there, but it had a chance of paralysis which would mix things up totally. Growlithe was also ready for the attack, more ready than Pikachu was. It kept moving its head around to see if the attack was coming yet, and then focused its eyes on Pikachu again. Pikachu generated an electrical power within its red cheeks as sparks flew, then Pikachu let go of a thin streak of lightning. The thin bolt of lightning was fast and it didn't take so long before Growlithe was struck, but like Ember, it wasn't so powerful. These two so far had seemed to be evenly matched, but there was a whole lot more to come.
After both attacks, there was not so much damage dealt and both trainers were hoping for a little more action in the final battle, but they didn't want to overdo it. Both Pokemon were back into their positions, and there was not much tactic to choose from noticing that the battle was barely started yet, and there had to be more startegy to it, and that's what Diane had noticed. There were a range of moves that could make Pikachu buffed up, or could make Growlithe weak without attacking, so she was going to take advantage of one of them, but it took her a few seconds to decide which one. Diane's face changed which was showing a decision, which Sean was not going to like and he automaticlly got suspicious. "Hmm, I wonder what she's up to..." he was thinking to himself, trying to make out what Diane was thinking as it could be quite a bad plan. Diane made her mind up, and used one of Pikachu's more weakening moves. "Let's use Tail Whip!" it was not so impressive to Sean, and he just smiled at the response as he was expecting more. However, Tail Whip did do something, and that was weaken the opponent by slapping it with the tail. Not much, because Sean had a similar move. Pikachu then started to fun on over to Growlithe, who was on all four legs, waiting for the attack to come and use its stealth to counter it. When Pikachu was within inches of Growlithe, Pikachu leaped and spinned, with its tail slapping Growlithe right across the face. Although there was not much effect on it, Growlithe did seem to shake its head a little aswell as shiver, but it did not take long until it did not shiver as much, only on occations. Growlithe sat on four of its legs and waited for the command from Sean. Since Diane got her Pikachu to use Tail Whip, Sean anted to use a similar move that would have the same effect, so he immediately commanded, "Use Leer, Growlithe!" indeed it was just like Tail Whip, lowering the defense of the opponent. The only real difference was that Leer was a very evil and intimidating look, which would make Pikachu less defensive and nervous. Back to the battle, Growlithe was starting to get Pikachu in the eyes, and its eyes started to change colour. Pikachu was getting more adjetated by Growlithe's eyes, as they were turning from white to gold within seconds, narrowing thinner until Pikachu looked as if it was shivering. Since the move was finished, Growlithe stopped leering at Pikachu, looking weaker. Now both of the Pokemon, yet again, were in the same condition.
The batlle was going the same way as it was, not much difference going on so far but that was just about to change as both Diane and Sean were going to think outside the box rather than use the same strategy. Yet again, taking the first shot was Diane as she had a move in mind that was a lot stronger than Thundershock, but was not an Electrical move, but it was still a pretty tough one. "Enough of this! Pikachu, use Slam!" indeed it was a strong move that would indeed spice up the battle. It wasn't seen before by Sean, but it was pretty much similar to Tackle only a whole lot stronger and could possibly put Sean in the red. Pikachu got up and started to run on its small four legs, trying to scurry up to Growlithe, who was sitting with its tail flat across the ground not doing much. Once Pikachu would attack Growlithe, there was a lucky chance that Growlithe would be angry and listen more and be more alert to attacks. As Pikachu then made contact with Growlithe, by jumpin up and hitting Growlithe with its body, which hurt quite a lot, as Growlithe was not expecting anything. At this stage, Growlithe was weaker than Pikachu which was bad, so Sean had to do something about it before Diane would attack again and weaken Growlithe further. Despite beeing attacked by Slam which hurt a whole lot, Growlithe was on all four of its legs, ready to take a command, but since Diane was crafty and takes chances, she took a chance to use yet another move. "Goodgood. Now, let's give it a Thundershock!" it annoyed Sean that she attacked twice in a row without giving sean the chance to get Growlithe back in shape. However, he had an idea of using one of Growlithe's moves that would make great use at a time like now. "Nice try, Diane! But not nice enough! Growlithe, use Bite quick!" yet another one of Growlithe's strong moves that would have a chance of stopping Pikachu from using Thundershock which would help at a time like now. Pikachu was charging up sparks within its cheeks, which was a sign that the Thundershock was being prepared, but Growlithe also started to prepare its speed for its Bite attack. Its feet were brushing the ground as it was charging up before dashing, as the faster it was, the faster the chance of a strong attack. Finally, once Growlithe was ready to go and was fast enough, Growlithe leaped across the road, forward to Pikachu. As for Pikachu, lots of sparks were being shot from its cheek, nearly ready to launch a streak of lightning. Pikachu then started to glow with electric power, meaning that it was only a couple more seconds until Thundershock would launch, but Growlithe was so close up now, and before Pikachu was going to launch the Thundershock, Growlithe bit Pikachu really hard on one of its cheeks which were a weak spot since they were the main source of electricity. Because of the Bite, Pikachu had stopped charging the electricity and had took the attack harshly, making Sam sure that the cheeks were a weak spot, giving him an extra tip. Diane was not pleased at all now, infact, she was getting worried.
Even though the battle was strongly heated up now and the finale was really on, the battle was still rather tied and both Pokemon were feeling like they were about to do something strong and possibly make a massive impact, but now that Diane was happy that her Pikachu's Slam did a whole lot of damage, she would get back to using a good strategy that would hopefully work well. She thought she'd announce it now before Sean would take the lead from the tie. "Not bad at all. Now, use your Double Team, Pikachu!" a very annoying move that would give Pikachu the evasive buff that would make it less likely to be hit, which would make Sean basiclly ruined. Fortunately for him though, what Diane didn't know is that Growlithe learnt a move that would prevent Double Team from being used, and he was going to use that so it would get her angry and fail her. "Not on my watch! Use your Odour Sleuth, Growlithe!" it had a total chance of hitting, so there was no way Diane was going to get out of it. Pikachu had its eyes closed, as it was trying to make more fake illusion copies of itself. Growlithe also listened, and started to sniff the ground, getting the scent of Pikachu, making its Double Team worthless since Growlithe already knew which Pikachu the real Pikachu was. As a result, Pikachu had stopped and Diane had to try something else. Diane was getting annoyed though, and couldn't help but add a pointless comment. "Give it up. There aint no chance you'll win, Sean. My Pikachu is well loved by me and that red furball aint nothing good." she was misjudging Growlithe, who growled at her for the comment, with Sean replying, "You have no idea at all, have you? My Growlithe has the lot, and that Pikachu is nothing copared to it." his comment was smarter sounding and made Diane sound like an idiot, because she was. Diane just stuck her tongue out in reply and got back to concentrating on the battle. Sean also getting back to the battle.
With both Growlithe and Pikachu back at where they were, there needed to be a next command and this one could have a great impact as the battle was full of fire and could have an exciting ending. To take the first shot, Diane was going to call out a move that Pikachu had already used, and had now thought that now would be the time to use it as Pikachu would be strong enough to make it more powerful than before. "I'll prove you wrong! Use Thundershock, Pikachu!" since the last Thundershock wasn't so good, Sean was sure that it would not be as good now as Pikachu was a whole lot weaker than before, but he was completely wrong. The first strike of Thundershock was not indeed all good, but it did do some damage, not to menchan that this time Pikachu could land a chritical shot, in Growlithe's weak spot. Pikachu responded, and started to charge up sparks violently from its cheeks, and for some reason had more sparks flying from the last two times, so it surely was going to do more, and could possibly even make Sean's chances of winning thin. Growlithe was on four of its legs, its tail wagging from side to side as if it were playing, but this was not such a game now, this was a harsh, solid battle. The sparks stopped flying out of Pikachu's cheeks and Pikachu let out a streak of lightning that had travelled a whole lot faster than the other Thundershock right at the beginning, and it was a lot brighter too, so this one was going to be tough. Sean didn't want that to hit, as it could have dire effect, so he tried his best to get Growlithe to move. "Growlithe! Dodge that Thundershock quick!" his command was not fast enough, as the Thundershock was far too fast and Growlithe did not get the chance to move out of the way. The bright streak of lightning had hurt intensively, as it reached Growlithe's tail and had a massive shock, causing huge weakness. The shock of lightning was a hard shot, and Sean had to do his best to win, he could not lose, not to Diane, not to the wild, shiny and rare Eevee. He could not see that happening, so he got it together, and tried hard. "Use Bite!" he did not have to say much, to get Growlithe to go and use a good move, so he had to hope for the best. Growlithe got on its legs, and started to charge on over to Pikachu who was stood there, not looking as hopeless as it was before. Since Sean ahd tried to dodge the last time, and failed, Diane was really going to get on his nerves with what she was about to do. "Okay. Pikachu, move outta the way!" Diane smiled while explaining. As Growlithe was not far off, Pikachu scurried on over to another side when Growlithe couldn't stop, leaving Growlithe to keep on running right the way through, into a shrub. Sean was really mad now, as he could not take any more from her, and had to think of something, and think really fast because it would not be long now until Growlithe would be knocked out, leaving a terrible ending for him.
With Sean not in such a good mood anymore, he tried his best to think of the move. He thought now was not the time yet to use the real big move that he was saving for last, because he sensed that there was something else to come first, so he needed to decide of a move that as not tactical, and not weak. There were only two choices, one move he had just used, or one move that was used on earlier and wasn't as good. "Has my luck ran out?" Sean thought to himself, sweating and feel really annoyed with himself and hoped that he had not failed. Just then, he got the picture in his head, what he is up for and what he could achieve. Just then, his eyes were opened wide, and he gave the command, he used the second best move that was not the big one, becuase he knew something els ewas first, he just hoped this would be pulled off well. "Growlithe! Use Ember and make it a real nice one!" he had to describe how well he wanted Growlithe to do this, and he couldn't describe it enough so he just waited and watched. Ember could have the same effect as Thundershock, where it did a whole lot better than before, or maybe even better. Growlithe opened its mouth wide, and charged up a bigger Ember than normal, with it blazing small ashes, that just like Thundershock, were a sign that it was going to be a good one. Once the Ember was big enough, Growlithe flung the Ember right across the air with force, looking like it was going for the good spot of Pikachu. Diance was even amazed at the speed, it was faster than Thundershock and that did massive damage. Diane didn't even try to command Pikachu to move, so there was nothing they could do about that. Fianlly, the Ember had hit Pikachu across the face, not just across the face though, the cheek, with harsh power too. The pain of the fire had not only had a massive slam across Pikachu's cheek, but had also caused what put Sean back in the lead, a burn, which would make Pikachu weaker by turn. Now both of them were so weak and the competition was close in this finale. It was nearing the end, and someone had to win. Diane could not take any more and stopped being the nice girl (even though she never was). "If that's the way you're going to play, then I'd close your eyes right about now, Sean. Pikachu. Use your Thunder Wave!" Sean's worst ever move, and she had always known that, and took it to her advantage. With it, the victory would be in her hands, well that's what she thought anyway. Quick responding, Pikachu started to charge up sparks dangerously from its cheeks and had shot a jolt of electricity into the sky, which had then landed onto Growlithe, causing perfect accuracy. Sean gasped in horror, as Growlithe had trouble on its feet, and could not last much longer, it was so close to being knocked out now.
This was it, the finale was nearly coming to an end, and both Pokemon were weak. Pikachu was on the ground, still up but barely and had several broozes with a burn on the cheek which if touched, would cause harmful damage, so Diane made sure it was avoided at all costs. As for Growlithe, things were much worse. It was on its feet, but very wobbly and had much trouble moving due to paralysis, and was far too exhausted. In this battle, things have come very close but there could only be one winner. There was no such thing as a draw here. Saying that, pressure was on both of them, but Diane saw it as going her way. Not only Sean had a powerful move that Growlithe had never used, so did Pikachu, and if used, then Sean would lose Eevee and lose to someone younger and less grown up than him. He just got that picture of Eevee in his head, that it was not suited for Diane, it was suited for him. Sean was sweating badly, and was stressed, highly stressed, same with Diane, but she had to do something about it, so she was going to take the chance and brag, while making her final move. "What's the matter? Too weak to attack? Oh well, always knew you wouldn't win. Now to end this. Pikachu! Use-" she got interrupted by angry emotion from Sean. "No!! I won't let you win! You don't deserve that Eevee! Growlithe, finish it off with Flame Wheel!!!" he screamed it, so Diane could hear that he was angry and the Eevee was his. Flame Wheel was a very strong move, a strong step from Ember and was stronger than Bite, so if Growlithe could move and get it in there, he will win. Growlithe had trouble getting back on its legs, but its eyes suddenly narrowed and had gotten angry as it focused hard. Growlithe's body was turning red, as flame orbs were getting generated all around it. All of the orbs were glowing red and looked as if they would really hurt when attacking. As all the flame orbs were charged, Growlithe charged on over to Pikachu who was on the floor as the burn was stinging painfully and could not do much. Diane's mouth widened as her Pikachu was on the floor, and she tried to do something. "Pikachu! Get up now!!" she was screaming like a little girl, but Pikachu didn't listen much, but it tried to get on all four legs, failing as it fell back down. Growlithe was then real close and made a rough body tackle with all flame orbs slamming Pikachu right all around, knocking Pikachu out. The finale was finished, and Sean had won.
"We did it Growlithe! Yay!" Sean was so happy, he was crying tears of joy for Growlithe, who didn't really show much affection, except from smiling a little. However, there was something left for Diane to do before she'd run off, she needed to return Pikachu. She reached into her pocket, and picked out the PokeBall from her pocket, retreating Pikachu, all while her head was bowed down in depression. Sean now wanted the chance to rub it in as she did with him before. "I told you everything. I knew you wouldn't win, and here we are. Goodbye." he smiled and waved as she did not like it, infact, she cried in desparation, running off to Celadon without a word.
(and there we have it, a finale. :) now let's see how sean will get eevee later...).
