That's because no one is having optimism about Valentine's day. This thread is nothing but a pity party.
While he may have been trolling, everything he said was true.
Also, Mr Oxford, that should be "I think we should all take no notice of Apples; he is a troll and only wants attention."
Why not? Everyone is being depressive, which is what his points are addressing.
He was booted because of the language he used, not because of his opinion. In fact, the moderator that infracted him, agreed with him.
For "The Cynic", you aren't very cynical.
Firstly, you seem to be stating that other people's opinions do not matter. You like Valentine's Dat, some other people in this thread don't. Deal with it. It is absolutely fine to be an opinionated person, but it is wrong to force those beliefs onto other people. Freedom of expression is one of the most unequivocally fundamental axioms of our democratic societies.
Sefondly Srcondly Secondgy Secondly, spelling is not so important. Spelling, grammar and punctuation exsist merely so that the reader can understand what the writer has written. I'm pretty sure we could all work out that thake in that context meant take. There is no need to be a grammar nazi. Furthermore, you have this strange belief that more academically minded people are somehow much better at spelling than other people. I study Physics, a subject that dosn't demand you pell every word perfect. After all, Einstein was dyslexic...
Thirdly, you say that everything said by Apples was true. He was saying that anyone who stated that Valentine's is over commercialised was just being pretentious. Its not being pretentious, its common sense. Valentin'es is over-commercialised. Christmas is over-commercialised. He was calling people who shared this belief "pseudo-intellectuals" when clearly they were just showing basic logic.
Fourthly, not everyone dislike Valentine's Day. Jonlene, JadedIguana, Ayselipera and I are just afew of the many memebers who have stated they like the occasion. Therefore, your point is just completely invalid.
Fithly, I was refering to his language when I stated he was being booted out, not his opinions. I've already stated why different opinions are important.
Finally, I am quite cynical. I like Valentine's Day as a concept. Not what it has become for the majority. I am cynical about many things. I am cynical about global warming. I am cynical about the Labour governement. I am cynical about a Conservative governement. I am cynical about the new series of Scrubs. I am cynical about Pokemon's 5th Gen being up-to-scratch. I am a cynic. Don't doubt who I am.
