This was a previous thread, but, with MK Wii U on the way, I'd thought this can be revived for more discussion!

Oh yeaaaah, Mario Kart. Literally, a series of Nintendo racing games that makes you go, "Oh yeaaaah!". But seriously, do you love Mario Kart as well? Just to give you the list of the games:

* Super Mario Kart (1992, Super Nintendo Entertainment System, Wii Virtual Console)
* Mario Kart 64 (1996, Nintendo 64, Wii Virtual Console)
* Mario Kart: Super Circuit (2001, Game Boy Advance, 3DS Virtual Console)
* Mario Kart: Double Dash‼ (2003, Nintendo GameCube)
* Mario Kart DS (2005, Nintendo DS)
* Mario Kart Wii (2008, Wii)
* Mario Kart 7 (2011, Nintendo 3DS)
* Mario Kart Wii U - Coming Soon!

If you have played any of these Mario Kart games before, which characters do you like using, and which Mario Kart Game is your favorite and why? Which items do you like the most, and which ones do you really dislike? Which tracks do you like racing in? Got any accomplishments in Mario Kart?

As a sort of discussion thread, feel free to discuss anything you want about Mario Kart here! <3

I have played Mario Kart Double Dash, the DS and the Wii version, but i only own the DS version. I really like using Yoshi since he isnt too big and therefore too heavy. I dislike using Mario, i just cant perform well using him. I dont have any favorite tracks since they all got their ups and downs. Its a lovely game and i need to play it more often.

I love Mario Kart. My first Mario Kart game was Mario Kart 64. I got it when I was eight years old. I used to play this game with my cousin on the weekends, and it was very fun. We've had great memories playing it together. Few years later, I bought GameCube. Double Dash was one of the first games for it. I've also had great memories playing this game. Currently, I have Mario Kart 7 and Mario Kart Wii. I play both of them online.

I tend to choose either Peach, Luigi, and Yoshi in most races. These three characters are my favorite. My favorite item is red shell, because it never fails to hit your opponent. Golden mushroom is my favorite, too. As for favorite tracks... I guess I don't have any. xD All of them have something unique that sets them apart from each other, so it's really hard to choose one.

Rainbow Road on Mario Kart 8 is going to be one hell of a crzy course no doubt. I can't even do well on MK Wii Rainbow Road (I suck I know .;c )

Main's are Lakitu/ Yoshi because they have pretty good acceleration and are easy to drift around with. Fav item would be Lucky 7 in MK7 because let's face it, you get 7 items all at once. Blue shells are annoying especially when you're first place and then once it hits it can potentially wreck your lead.

Ahhh I love Mario Kart! n_n; I originally had Mario Kart 64, played it until I got a Wii (skipped everything in between lol) and pretty much made a living off of destroying my friends dreams at ever being good at that game lol.

I definitely favored playing with high acceleration characters. I didn't need them to be fast because I could exploit the track for every free boost it was worth. ;] That was my style. I don't know if I'll be getting the new version (money booo) but we'll see!

Mario Kart is definitely one of my favorite racing series. I usually play as Luigi or Yoshi, but on MK7 I always choose my Mii. I've played Double Dash, DS, Wii, and 7 (my favorite one). My favorite tracks (new and old) are all in the 7th, being Wuhu Loop, Wario's Shipyard, Maka Wuhu, Koopa Cape, and Daisy Cruiser. My favorite items are the Lucky 7 and Bullet Bill. Lucky 7 is seven items in one, and when you turn into Bullet Bill, you're invincible and go extremely fast.
I'm looking forward to the Wii U MK, and I will definitely buy it if I ever get a Wii U.

I absolutely love Mario Kart! My most notable characters are Baby Luigi on the Wii and Yoshi w/ his Cucumber on the DS. I really enjoyed the MK Wii game, it did have several flaws but I just adored it anyway, Maple Treeway and Rainbow Road were definitely my favorite circuits. I am really anticipating the MK WiiU, should be an amazing game and I have really high hopes for it!

I think I share the same top 3 as you do. Luigi's Circuit steals the the top spot, though, I love it! I like Rainbow Road as much as Kalimari Desert, the little jingle in Rainbow Road is a nice touch :3

Rainbow Road (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5xdue7GFcc) (Nintendo 64 version). It's my favorite Mario Kart soundtrack of all time. I've heard this theme for the first time in about six months, and it instantly got me thinking about my childhood. Haha. Wii version of Rainbow Road (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fcRpzlytDWs) is my favorite, too. I also like Airship Fortress (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S1GTqTi-zRo), Maple Treeway (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lLn9__8SSTk), Waluigi Pinball (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=crc1Wn59nog), Coconut Mall (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ybhjox7LhmY), and Maku Wuhu (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZZHbxCL7TFQ).

What about the items? Got a personal preference / personal peeve?

In Double Dash, I love the Egg Roll from Yoshi/Birdo, because it's a homing item, annnd it can produce items like Stars Mushrooms, and otherwise. <3 Speaking of which, Bullet Bills and Stars are quite the save grace, huh? Ugh, those Bullet Bills are powerful in tracks like... the Baby Circuit. XD

I think as I said before... I really hate the Blue Shells. XD If you've encountered with one, you'll know why. ;__;

It's called the Blooper, and yes, it's annoying. XD

In Mario Kart DS, I noticed that it also slows down the CPU Karts, which was a cool bonus, but... at what cost to your sight. XD (Well, you'd use the map to steer, but, that.. can be annoying. ;A;)

Mario Kart is an amazing game, I love it! My favorite thing about is it's one of those rare games that you can ask your friends to play with you, whether they like video games or not. That's a valuable aspect in a video game these days, and Mario Kart definitely has it. I played the older versions a few times, but that was back when I played solely as Luigi. With the newer versions, my main switches from Daisy to Rosalina; they're both so cute. <3 It's always a good time when you race with your best friend for hours on end and keep score of who's won the most. Makes a Saturday afternoon special!

As for my favorite soundtrack in the game, Rainbow Road is probably at the top of my list, but honestly most of them will pleasant to listen to. It's common for me to mute the game I'm playing and turn on my own music from my phone or computer, but this game was an exception. I'm not a huge fan of video game soundtracks, so that's a rare occurrence for me, haha.

As much as I loved rolling a triple red shell in the last lap, mushrooms are, in my opinion, underrated boosts that always helped me get back in a race I was previously completely failing. On the other hand, my least favorite is probably the green shells. They're very situational, and when they do work their effect is no different than a red shell. Essentially, they're red shell wannabes.
