  • If you're anything like me, then you might start thinking that public restrooms are getting a little bit ridiculous. You might think I'm crazy for saying this, but why is everything is the restroom automatic? I know whoever started this thought it was a brilliant idea... but I am getting a little fed-up.

I was using an automated toilet once (It flushes when you walk away) and when I was on it and flushed 7 times before I was finished. Then there's those sinks. It takes me about ten seconds to even get them started, and they periodically shut off while I'm trying to wash my hands.

I'll admit, though, that that hand driers are pretty fun to use. I just love watching my skin turn all flabby. XD

Anyone else agree? [I'll admit... this was a pretty lame thing to post about, even for me, but I just had to get it out there.]

    Automatic toilets=lame
    Automatic sinks=lame
    Automatic dryers=

At my school we have those really really powerful dryers. They work really well! The only downside is that they are really loud.

  • Yep, my school has all of that except automated sinks. They are those ones where you press the button down and will only be pressed for about ten seconds and then shuts off once the button pops back up. The toilets here are automatic, and then it will flush three times before I even get the chance to exit the stall.

Once I used a casino restroom and they seem to have this automated paper towel dispenser ... I can't figure out how the hell I'm supposed to work them. So I bother not to because I don't want to make myself look like some Luddite. Then I just walk away with wet hands. :/ The hand dryers were just fine.

I think next there will be automatic toilet paper dispensers as well soap. Lol.

I don't mind any of those automated things. I agree ^ They are cool. And it makes it easier to just come and go. Sometimes I struggled with turning taps on or off because I did't know they were automated. So I looked like an idiot. And hand dryers are the greatest. They're easy. I don't really see the need for the flush thing though. I just automatically touch them anyway.

Automated toilets are annoying, the first time I used one it flushed while I was still using it, it made me jump in fright. XD

I like the Automated dryers though, me and my friend had a blowing fight, we pointed the small dryer at each other and our hair went all over the place. I love them things. <3

  • The Automated toilits sometimes scare the living bejeezes out of me. It'll like randomly flsuh four or five times when i'm not even done x.x; Automated sinks..thier..hm...frusturating. Half the time I can NEVER get them to come on, then after like two minutes of trying I go "Egh, screw this." Automated handryers, I like those ^^ Yes they save paper towels thereby saving trees, but their also fun to mess around with!

  • As long as the toilet doesn't talk to me, I think I'm good. I'd rather be in a public restroom where everything is clean and automated than filty and not functional (dislikes going up to the beach because they feature the later. I swear, they're like outhoues)

  • I don't mind the automated toilets and hand dryers, but the sinks get on my nerves. It takes me forever just to keep them running long enough to completely clean my hands. I really don't like the ones in the Wal-Marts here. They are really small and you could spend almost ten minutes in there just trying to wash your hands.

  • I personally don't like either or all.

Automated toilets- Annoying since they normally don't work ounce you get off. Sometimes I go to flush them and only then they flush.

Automated Sink-(This doesn't really apply to me since I normally don't wash my hands but i'm still giving my opinon) These things aren't as bad. Except it may take a while to get them to start.

  • Ugh, I cannot stand those automatic toilets or automatic sinks. But especially the toilets for reasons you've mentioned. x___X

But I like those automatic paper towel dispensers. Where you wave your hand in front of them and they fall out. :B

  • Well, actually the don't really bother me. o..o

I mean it can get annoying sometimes, but my mind is pretty much filled with the following:

    "...SASUKE...Naruto...SASUKE..."

And thus I have no ability to think of anything else for longer than a few - *mind drifts off to Naruto & Sasuke*

Public toilets are horrible completely - automatic or not (IMO!)

I've yet to see one of the automatic flushing toilets, but it sounds good to me... Some people don't understand the concept of flushing *freaks out* It's basic hygene (spelling?)..

I do like the handriers though ^^

    Unhealthy yaoi obsession much?

Anyways, I wish they had automatic restrooms at my school. Not that I need it, but so I can use the restroom without having the fear that someone forgot to flush (whether intentionally or not). *vomits*

  • I hate automated washrooms. They don't have that many up here in Canada that I've noticed--I mean, we'll have the sinks and hand dryers but that's it. I hate the toilets and I hate the sinks. They don't stay on long enough for you to wash your hands (...the sinks, I mean xD) and you have to stand there twice as long as any other sink just to get all the soap off and such.

    I hate hand dryers altogether though. I prefer paper towels because it's easier to get your hands dry that way. <<;

I hate the automatic toilets, it just feels more filthy than flushing it myself. Other than that, I'm pretty much ok with them.

  • The only automated toilet I've used had a laser sensor. So...once you got up, it would sense that you weren't there and would flush. Didn't bug me. The sinks bug me. ALOT. Dryers are meh. I like paper better.

My point earlier was that I'd prefer automated to filthy.

GAAAAH, THERE ARE AUTOMATIC SOAP DISPENSERS DUDE! THEY'RE FREAKIN AWESOME. *can sit there waving her hand in front of the laser thing for ages getting like, a lake of foamy soap in her hand just for fun*

The Automatic paper towels are awesome. The automatic toilets are kind of a pain, and I'm nervous that if I walk out and it doesn't flush, then the next person'll be like, "EWWW." < < So I always press the button anyway. So they don't bother me.

The automatic sinks are a pain too. I always sit there for like, five minutes with soap on my hands, waving my hands around the faucet like an idiot, and everyone just sort of looks at me before I make a face at them and continue to move from sink to sink, trying to figure out why they seem to like everyone but me. < <

They work... eventually. Sometimes I have good luck and I only hand to wave my hands around three times. xD
