Game seems to be locking up near the beginning of the game when the grunt/minion gets Houndoom sicked on him. Using Visual Boy Advance and unable to find a reason why it's doing this. Music and such still plays but nothing else happens. I have attempted resetting, restarting my save, re-patching on a fresh FireRed ROM, and nothing seems to solve the issue. Apologies if I'm missing something very obvious.

I've written about it again in the past but unfortunately did not get any response so i'll try again. Pokemon Unbound is a perfect game don't get me wrong ,except for the fact that it has a huge bug, that it seems not to have been noticed. I think that the game lacks randomness when entering a battle. I mean that the moment you click for a battle, a destiny is written which cannot be changed no matter what you do.

For example, Let's say that i save in front of a trainer and then speak to him and enter a battle. On the first turn before i use any move at all i save state. After that i get on to use the move let's say horn drill which has a 30% accuracy and... let's say that i land it. Pretty damn lucky isn't it? Then in spite of continuing to battle i decide to load state and play the first turn from the start. I use Horn drill and i again i land it. I do the same process again for a 3rd time and i land horn drill again.. Try it 50 times and you'll always land a horn drill (Am i such a lucky ba***rd?!?!?!). After 50 times i decide once more to load state and start from the first turn of the battle all over again. I play horn drill and..... i land it of course. On the second turn i use let's say the move Jump Kick having 95% accuracy. Let's say i miss the jump kick (Pretty unlucky...). I decide to load state once more and play in both turns exactly the same moves. What i get.... Every but every f****ing time 100 load states straight in line, the Horn Drill that i'll be using on 1st turn will ALWAYS land and the Jump Kick that i'll be using on 2nd turn will ALWAYS miss. If i reset the game and load it properly no using save/load states the battle is totally different.

So it seems that the random mechanics of a battle are not so random. They are rather predefined at the moment/ frame you click for the battle to start. If it was done intentionally by @Skeli to avoid cheating in game, i say that it is brilliant. But man this whole thing makes the safari mission with the straight 20 pokemon catch a pain in the ass. At least change the mission if not the mechanics. 20/30 is unreal. All of what i explained before happens with the berries too. No matter how many berries you feed to the damn pokemon each time it won't get caught if the "destiny" created by the frame you entered the safari doesn't "allow it".

Hard save and reset the game to get different results for battles. Simply reloading a save state won't do anything to change the predetermined aspects of battles.

I'm impressed with this hack, thank you for putting so much work into this. Did you guys make a box art? I'm using retroarch and it's kinda sad to see a missing miniature there.

I just started Unbound and am really liking it so far, but there's a constant bug that pretty much makes the game unplayable. At random times the game will suddenly go back to the intro scene and currently I am at the cutscene after beating the first gym leader and when the police enter, the game goes back to the intro scene and I'm unable to progress further. I checked your bugs on "Read me" and could not find this and also could not enter your discord. Please let me know the next steps in what to do, thanks!

    *MAJOR BUG*
(EDIT: Apparently it's not, thanks to M̷̗̟̥̏a̶̰͐̐̇s̸͙̈͗̊o̵̡̩͐̑̒n̷̗̗̈ for the clarification. Disregard the following if you want)

First off, a ton of thanks for this hack.
It is simply the best I ever came across.

I am not sure this bug is documented/posted. I am using version 1.1.3.1.
In the first floor in the ruins of void, I switched the switches I found (not sure in which order I did) and progressed through the dungeon, completing it and went on with the story. However...
The switches remain "stuck" in their "on" position, meaning I am unable to go to the room with the dusclops or the other room (from what I saw in a video it should be a bronzong room). No way around it, I just can't enter, which also means no entry to the hidden grotto there or access to the mega-thing for one pokemon.
Is there any chance the switches could be set to be switchable on/off both ways for the people like me who encountered this bug?

    Thank you for your time,
    Quanenth

I wanted to get a Wynaut (for the quest for the guy outside the daycare), and as shown on the guide in order to get one I had to breed a Wobbuffet.
So, I got a Wobbuffet, bred it with a Ditto. The egg gave me a level 1 Wobbuffet.

Edit: I totally forgot Wobbuffet needs to be holding Lax Incense to breed a Wynaut.

The Dusclop Section is only available after beating the main game,
and the Bronzong Puzzle is only available after flipping the switch past the Dusclops Section

Sorry to bother, but I solely registered to find a solution to this problem (and Google consistently fails to serve me):

First and foremost, I really enjoyed the first couple of hours of this hack. I rarely play Pokémon these days, the exception being quality ROM hacks (like Glazed in the past).

Now I wanted to play Unbound on a Raspberry Pi with Recalbox (edit: utilizing RetroArch, I think), however, it lacks a persistent real time clock and I completely power it off after playing, so its clock gets reset each reboot.
To solve this, I usually let it get the time from my phone via tethering (which always worked).

But today I forgot to set the time before starting the game and saved. Now every time, no matter how many times I save with the correct time set, it always says it detected "RTC tampering", which renders events nonfunctional, as I understand it.
It always says the ingame time is set to 2076/01/01, but ingame it shows the correct time and date (pause AND save menu).

Now, I understand why such a mechanism is in place. It's to prevent players jumping back and forth between dates and fetch promotional Pokémon for example (which is actually a brilliant feature, Skeli).

But as a downside, it is now locking me out of events, although I never intended to cheat the system.

The thing is, I could delete my save file and replay the 5-6 hours, which would hurt, but solve the issue.
However, if I forget to set the time again, it would lock me out once more and I would have to start over again...

Is there any solution to restore the clock dependant events?

    Additional notes:
It says it would resume working "the day after", but after the date changed (real world) I saved again, restarted, but still get the same message, claiming I saved on 2076/01/01.
(Do you reckon I have to wait another day or a full 24 hours to have it working again?)

    TL;DR:
I saved with my system having the wrong date on my RasPi, now I get an error about raids not working until the day after.
Restoring the correct time ingame, saving and restarting always says the date was set to 2076/01/01, although it's displayed correctly ingame.
I just want to play the game properly. :(

In any case, thanks for reading and trying to help in advance.

I don't know if there's a quick and easy solution to anyone using raspberry pie and RTC. Just curious what pie you using? My husband has version 4 at home, he may be able to assist, I'll show him your problem, see if he comes up with a possible solution. Congrats on using the pie successfully with the game otherwise.

Hey, I'm using a Pi 2B, which works nicely most of the time.
And it's quite straightforward to use it these days, as you can use a preconfigured system like Recalbox or Retropie and you're good to go.

To reiterate the problem I encountered, my Pi is offline and I only let it fetch the time from my phone's internet to set the correct time within the emulator before playing a game with a clock function.
I simply forgot it once, saved, and now the game always claims it was saved on 2076/01/01, no matter how much I save running the correct date again.

I guess it's simply to protect the raid and event system, but as a downside, it disables it completely should your save file and current time conflict once.

I'll possibly have a look at the save file later. Without elaborating much further (could be a grey area), the protection mechanism has to be stored somewhere.

On a side note, I loaded the game and corresponding "faulty" save directly on my phone running RetroArch, the correct time and all, loading and saving still triggers the protection, which was expected.
So for now, my options are the attempt mentioned above, restarting, or resume on 2076/01/02. X-(

The rpg is just stupid with hax, or computer just play like an idiot and let you lose on purpose when the win is so easy to get
