Hey just wanted to post here and say how much I loved this rom hack, just finished it on the rebalanced version, generally playing set+no items. I really learned a ton about battling from this playthrough, this is the first pokemon rom hack Ive beaten. I really loved a lot of the changes made and wanted to share my team and some highlights from my some 75 hour journey.

My team ended up being the event Blazkien, Farfetched, Clawitzer, Tyrantrum, Mismagius, and Amoongus. I ev trained all of my pokemon and found some really great synergy between them, like setting up speed boosts with protect+batonpass mega blazkien, or using Amoongus as a pivoting bulky wall. Ive tried playing other difficulty rom hacks, but for some reason it was this one that really made how to battle well click with me.

I tried to use pokemon that had been buffed for the rom hack, and had a great time. particular, I really loved the changes made to farfetched. I originally picked him up just to deal with Violia, but in the end found his utility as a glass canon wall breaker to be a vital part of my team. I feel Farfetched is actually a perfect example of how well you have rebalanced some of the pokemon, its ability to critical every hit with stick+super luck is super useful, but comes at the cost of being unable to take a hit, and essentially not get a held item.

I really loved the difficulty curve in this game as well. This was the weakest part of xy to me, and honestly the difficulty you added made me really appreciate the game. With the exception of Violia, every gym leader gave me some kind of trouble. I really loved how much more difficult they got from Ramos onwards, and each one forced me to rethink my strategy and move composition. I felt like I was winning not because I was over-leved or out numbering the gym leaders, but because I was playing better.

The end stretch between the team flare episode and the end were the best part of the game for me. Having to fight all 3 rivals in a gauntlet was a real challenge, and wulfric being a double battle threw me completely off guard, and made him the most difficult gym leader for me. I loved how you didnt hold back after gym 8 and had every trained have full teams of 6 and often with legendary pokemon. It was a great challenge that really made reaching the elite 4 feel rewarding.

Finally, your elite 4 composition was wonderful. With the exception of the steel guy (cant remember his name) all of them gave me a ton of challenge and made me really develop and plan a strategy for them. I have to compliment Siebold in particular, his team was as genius as it was sadistic. His pokemon all had perfect counters to mine, and with surf/muddy water stab moves it felt like a constant war of attrition I couldnt win. The synergy of his team was insanely good,e especially between his kingdra, politoed, and ludicolo. To be completely honest, I restored to using items to beat him after a solid 5 hours of attemps. Dianathe aslo felt like a proper champion this time as well. In truth, I had to use switch mode to beat her, that blazkien is scary when electroweb is setup. I recognize I kinda cheated to win, but in truth this rom hack was wonderful and Im downloading your Ultramoon hack as I write. Just wanted to give you this praise, and thank you so much for the wonderful experience!

Oh yeah, also found a shiny mr. Mime jr in reflection cave by complete chance. So that was pretty neat.

hey, I'm playing the 2.67 version and seems that the pokemon from B2f on the reflection cave are loading in the alakazanite room instead of the ones that are suposed to be there (like noibat) is this suposed to happen (like, do i need to activate the 8p.m. event for them to show) or is this a bug? anyways, love the hack, just really want to use a noibat

Guess it's a bug. You can just go to the other part of B2F and the mons should appear there.

I'm not sure if this has been asked before, but I wanted to know fi 1% legendaries are able to be captured or encountered multiple times. For example, in the Reflection Cave, I encountered Meloetta but accidentally knocked it out because my pokemon had a rocky helmet. I've been trying and trying and still haven't been able to get another encounter.

The answer is yes, they can be encountered multiple times. At least I know for sure Meloetta in the Reflection Cave can be. Encountered it once again and accidentally knocked it out again, then finally encountered it again and caught it.

Fun rom hack but would be nice if it could work with the latest updates of vanilla game.
Yeah I've tried a few times, had no luck unfortunately. Was easy to do for USUM but XY didn't play nice with the update. Might be worth trying again at some point.

Yeah, they're regular 1% encounters, so they can be encountered as many times as you want; it just takes ages.

Hey, so I just made an account to mention some things. I'm playing the Online version and I could not get the Torchic encounter nor did the mart in Santalune city sell TMs. Are changes like this not present in the Online version and I should change to something else?

Hey, yeah that's the whole point of the online version - it removes a lot features to make itself online friendly.

This, Inclement and PSPM are all such great hacks! Would it be possible to make a version of this hack that removes EV yields?

Thanks! That would be very easy to do, as pk3DS can remove them all automatically, but it won't be me doing it; I'm finished with EXWY. I might fix some bugs in future, but EXWY six years old now and I don't want to add any more versions.

Hey, how're you? I recently started playing and I love the hack so far, much more difficult than I expected! But I was wondering how I could get a Thunderstone? I was reading through the files and I couldn't find anything, I thought Pikachu would hold ones, but he got the Light Ball. Is it not a wild held item?

I'm playing the rebalanced version of this, really enjoying it. I'm in Reflection Cave and trying to get Diancie. When using repel or super repel, I get no encounters at all. Am I missing something.

Very reasonable! Uploading an EVless patch for each version would be a huge annoyance and all for a feature that isn't really in demand. I was able to get it working using pk3DS anyway. Thanks for all your hard work on making these hacks!

Glad you're enjoying it! I'd guess your lead mon is too high a level, you're in the wrong room or it's just that a 1% chance is very low and might take some time to happen.

Is it possible to remove the trainer changes and xp changes(so i can get more xp) and only keep the changes for pokemons, abilitys the Shop and evolving? So is it possible to just remove those two things?

It is possible, but there are some issues with that:
    • You can't remove the xp changes without modifying base stats for every Pokémon
    • Removing the trainer changes will make the wild Pokémon massively overlevelled compared to the vanilla trainers, so you'd just end up with a mess
It would be easier to make a whole new hack than try to warp this one into something it's not.
