1st Gen Highest Level Pokemon In R/B?

Best (legal) Pokémon I had was always my starter, in the mid forties. It was about this time that I usually reached Cinnabar Island, and could do the rare candy trick. From then, my Pokémon went up to 100. (I was eight. I wanted to win.)

Hahaha, I didn't cheat for ages on R/B/Y... So, for a while, it was:

lv98 Gengar
lv 97 Alakazam
lv 96 Blastoise
lv 90 Pigeot
lv 96 Mewtwo
lv 100 Charizard

And then, came Missingno XD I had a level 200 and something one, along with several lv 0298354fdgdofg ones (you know, the ones without nonsense writing around the stats?). Funny thing was, if you trained them up a level, the level went down to 0 XD

I...thought level 255 was as high as it would go. I've never seen anything above that.

Anyway, I never got my team above their 70s legally. And I never bothered with the Missingno hax since I was kind of scared of it. And I was even playing on an emulator so I had less reason to be afraid.

Melodyfree => I have always thought that the level value was an unsigned char (avoids negative stats) and so limited to 255, it can be graphic bug, could've been exchanged with an attack/defense value ._.

Anyway I got a lv. 142 Golduck with the Missingn° Cinnabar glitch %D

My highest level was probably a level 90ish Mewtwo a long time ago, but the highest I CAN remember is a level 79 Gengar that pretty much owned the Elite Four... even at level 40 :).

It was going grand and my entire team had reached level seventy by the time I was ready to challenge the Elite Four, but then my cousin dropped by one day and open my eyes to the world of Missingno. After that, I used Rare Candies to make my Pokémon unbeatable. What can I say? I was young. I couldn't see the error of my ways.

Lv. 0 Gyarados. It was invincible as it had 255 everything. I avoided levelling it up, though, of the sake of such high stats for lv. 0 pokemon. Well, it had 255 everything, but the HP was 6. Yeah, it could have been pwned easily. Oddly enough, it got hit, but it beat the enemy with Hyper Beam, but I forgot about the last pokemon, who hit me and left me with 1 HP. Yeah, I do serious glitching. It was a lv. 254 Magikarp! Really powerful, knew TM06. Literally.

I had a couple Lv 100 Pokemon. Never had anything past that.

I've had level 140 or so Kangaskhans and other stuff through the missingno cheat, but those don't really count.

My highest leveled pokemon was my level 97 Mewtwo. On my original red game, I got my whole party up over 90 before restarting. I had a level 96 Zapdos and a level 95 Venusaur, but other than them I can't remember my team.

You can go past lvl 100 through a MissingNo glitch. :'3
I think only in the older games though.. I have never seen a level -insert higher number than 100 here- in any of the newer games.

Legally, you cannot go past 100. xD However, with the missingno glitch... you can. I've never used it, though. :3 I didn't see the point in going past 100.
