He said "that can match arceus" which to me sounds like that can be as powerful or as significant as arceus. I understand what the pokemon's theme is.he wasnt talking about surpassing god (acreus) that wouldnt be right, he meant like something pulls you to what you want,
Lion Pokemon with a fire mane.
dark/fire
bet we'll see it.
not all pokemon are creatures just look at chimecho, voltorb, koffing, rotom, muk, actually lot's of gen 1's pokemon were inanimate objects... also a yin and yang pairing isn't new they have been doing opposites since gold and silver, sky(sun) and sea (moon), land and sea, latios and latias which represent opposing genders, time and space, plus Hoenn actually looks like a yin and yang sign, don't believe me look at a map of Hoenn for some time and you will see it, hey maybe this can be used as a hint for Hoenn remakes...Just because it's a new region doesn't mean the legendaries have to surpass the old ones. In fact, I'd prefer if they didn't. I don't want to think of one pokemon controling the world. The title is "legendary" not "godly". I think you guys are taking it too far. I'm guessing it will just be a Yin/yang pairing, and they'll talk a lot about the balance of good and evil. I don't want some strange mecha-human angel to be a legendary, I want a rare creature. Pokemon are creatures.
wrong the move has a base attack of 110 not 120 plus solar beam doesn't have a high critical rate oh and i forgot to mention it can burn the opponent and besides even if it was look at the elemental punches and the elemental fangs. That's too much like solar beam, which a lot of fire-types can learn anyway.
Actually, it's exactly the same, just with a different type.

that would an awsome starter fire/dark lion
by matching i meant in importance not in power, you know like groudon is as important as ho-oh but ho-oh is stronger, wait that's not a good example but you know what i mean. I want a pokemon that can near the dragon's in importance atleast.[/QUOTE]I've created some pokemon, and that was the fire starter in my line.
I think there's a reason for that, new types would be redundant.i think they should add some new types, they havent since johto. i also think it would be cool to see a grass/physic and water/ghost, or something like that
well we have actually had a fire lion, entei. i know some say their their dogs, but say their lions. but i think it would be cool to see a lion with a fire mane
I like this idea a lot. It's actually plausible. I want to see a bunch of sidequests with actual stories, and along the way you meet a bunch of the champions. Eventually you could meet Cynthia or something, and she could give you a plane ticket that takes you to the island where the Champion's Hall. It's be really cool! How about this one. In the new game, you beat the Elite 4 like always and become the new champion of this region after beating the old one. Now I know they can't throw all the regions themselves into the game, but why not throw in some sidequests after becoming champion. Then after you complete those, you are sent to the "Champion's Hall" or something, and face what is basically an Elite 4 composed of the champions from the other regions. And maybe you face like a "Grandmaster Champion" after that or something, that can be ridiculously difficult.
I just want a real challenge in the game, Red in HG/SS is difficult for me right now, but I don't have one pokemon that is lvl 70 yet. So it would be cool if it was a real difficult challenge even if all your pokemon are at the same level or a little above.
Well for one, lions are cats.i know i think their more like dogs too but people have speculations of the them being lions. i mean their called the legendary dogs

true that's where i was getting with my god of destiny idea, it might not be a creator but it's powers are still pretty cool. That sounds pretty awesome, and I'd be all for it but I think I'd still rather a Champions Tournament. You still have to beat the Elite 4 and Champion but then afterwards, you're invited to a Champion Tourney. (Maybe after you beat the Champions of other regions.) Basically it'd be a huge tournament held monthly or every once in awhile where you battle all the people who have beaten Champions around the world. In the first round you'd take on people who have Pokemon in the 60's-70's and with each round the levels would go up until the final where the final trainer would either have Pokemon in the high 90's or just maxed out at 100. Than you could really be the best in the world!!
Also I don't understand this whole, "Arceus was a god, how are they going to top it?" mentality. They made a god pokemon. So what? Are you trying to tell me there's only one "god" in our world? It really depends on your definition and beliefs? And frankly, did Ho-oh top Mewtwo? Did Shaymin top Jirachi or Celebi? Frankly, it's all arbitrary. The legends all have their purpose and their purpose is not to top anyone else. And if anything, they could just make another god pokemon. =/

Edit: Doesn't say frankly as much. :P
I was saying that since gen tres, pokemon has tried to make their legendaries more and more significant, I think that they need to make them less important now. They're pokemon, not creators or representations of the world. So I'm really hoping not to see something that controls my destiny in the next gen because that doesn't sound like a fantasy creature it sounds like a god, which pokemon should not be.
End rant.
you shouldn't be offended by Arceus it's based on shintoism which is a religion with many gods and goddesses that represent the world so yeah the creators are japanese and want to use their countries culture to inspire their stories, Arceus isn't the Christian god, it's neither good or evil from what we have seen... it's just a Kami not god but Kami. the japanese belive in destiny like that red rope thing that ties lovers together, ect. so they might make one on it.I don't think you understood me. What I was saying was Arceus is the "god" pokemon, and I don't think it's right that pokemon took the legendaries that far. The legendaries started out as rare, ancient pokemon who were rumored to exist. It's gone from that to creators of the universe. That's too much imo. I don't think the legendaries should be god like, only powerful and rare. Backstories are, fine, but I don't want to catch god and put him in my pocket, that's almost disrespectful to me.

wouldn't that be like the psuedo legendaries... and like i said it's not god as in Christiany, man westerners think everything revolves around them and their main religion, and this coming from a westerner... well i perfer eastern concept compared to western.I agree, just because it is considered the "god" pokemon, doesn't mean there can't be lesser legendaries that might even be more powerful.
And why not a rare one of a kind non-legendary pokemon that evolves into a legendary? Or something......
Where is GameFreaks official website so I can fill their email with my ideas? :D
