Just walking around. If you have access to Cycling Road, just go up and down for a while, and you'll gain Happiness really fast.

Another thing to do is send the Poke to your PokeWalker, and while you're out for the day, just keep it in your pocket. The longer you walk around the more happiness you get. I put a Golbat in my PokeWalker, and went to school. When I got home and sent him back, he evolved into a Crobat when I leveled him up. ^^

How do pokemon that need love and care take to evolve, is it in battle, outside of battle or both? Also is there a way to to teach a pokemon a Move that that he didn't learn before since he didn't evolve in time?

When Pokemon that require happiness to evolve happiness have enough happiness to evolve, they will evolve at the next level up. Doesn't matter if it was battle or Rare Candy.

As for your second question, I don't understand it completely, but you can reteach moves by using Heart Scales (obtained by using Rock Smash or at Pokeathlon) at the tutor house in Blackthorn City.

    roamers nature and iv's

hi guys, sorry if there was already a thread about this but i used the search button and couldn't seem to find the thread I want.

so when are the nature and iv's for these roamers set? and I read on certain sites online that these roamers will respawn everytime you beat the elite 4. someone please confirm if that's true because i wonder if those were just pranks. if these roamers respawn you would think that serebii would have some information. and where do they respawn if they do?

    thanks guys.

Can someone explain to me "EV training"? I understand the whole kill certain types of Pokemon to increase in a specific stat. But how do I know when to stop?
When can I STOP killing specific Pokemon in order to increase a certain stat? Because it gets really annoying if I'm a lvl 50 killing level 20ish Goldeens -_-''

Well it's based on just how much you personally would want to boost a certain stat. If you're just trying to max out a stat, though, 255 EVs is the max any stat can get, with 252 being the efficient place to stop, since it's 4 EVs for one stat point increase.

The total amount of EVs a Pokémon can get is 510. So in cases of maxing out two stats, you'd aim for 252 in one, 252 in another, and at least 4 in another stat just so it isn't a waste...

So at most 252 Goldeens if you want to max out Attack. Of course, you'll be better off speeding up the process by using an item like Macho Brace (doubles EVs) or a Power Item (Power Bracer for instance adds 4 Attack EVs upon what you gain from your kill), and perhaps Pokérus (which also doubles EVs). With all that, you can cut the amount of Goldeens (or w/e else you want to train on) to something in the double-digits.

If you feel you've maxed out with 510 EVs, you can check by getting the Effort Ribbon from the woman in Blackthorn City. Keep in mind that even after EV-training and getting all 510 EVs, you may not see any big changes, depending on what level you're at. The full effects of EV-training are seen at level 100.

So how do I know if it's maxed out? Any way to keep track of it? o.O
Also, what does it mean when...say, I try to use Protein on it and it says "has no effect"? Does that mean it has been maxed out?

If you recorded the IVs of your Pokémon beforehand, you can pretty much check by doing a little math with the IVs and the Pokémon's stats at level 100. Otherwise, there's no way to check how many EVs are in a particular stat, so it's important to keep track yourself, perhaps with paper to help. (really miss the Pokétch to help with this)

As for Proteins and other vitamins, they give 10 EVs each, but only work if that stat has less than 100 EVs already in it. If it has no effect, all that means is there's already 100 or more EVs in it, and it doesn't necessarily mean the stat is already maxed out.

Btw, although 252 is more efficient, it can be a lot of trouble to obsess over, and I personally don't mind just going all out to 255 sometimes. Up to you~ x_x

The thread you would have been searching for would have been the Help thread sticky at the top of the section which is where questions should be posted. =P

Anyways, I'm not sure whether it is true or not, although I have heard the same thing about it respawning if you beat the Elite Four... but someone else will have to confirm that. *merges with Help thread* As for when they are initially set, for Entei/Raikou it is when they are released, and Suicune when you actually battle it.

if we're able to find out the answer to this question it definitely deserves to be stickied in faq/known info.

it's a weird hobby of mine to capture pokemon(especially legendaries) with good natures... so knowing this helps a lot. the thing is i want to KO my raikou and entei so I can reset their natures but at the same time, if the respawn thing is a false rumor then i just lost myself 2 legendary pokemon to my pokedex.

Is it possible to evolve a Feebas into Milotic in HGSS, even though you can't increase it's beauty? Also, how would you evolve certain Pokemon that can only evolve in certain areas, such as Magnezone or Probopass in HGSS?

I chose a totodile for my starter, What moves should i teach it?

You can teach it Ice Fang (very essential), Aqua Tail, Crunch (very important for gyms) Superpower or Hydro Pump. All the Moves mentioned above all learned by Totodile and it's evolutions also To get these moves faster, don't evolve your Totodile. I hope I helped you... :D

Natures are set before they start roaming. I know in Platinum you have to soft reset before you interact with Mesprit for the first time in order to get the nature you're looking for. Otherwise you'll always encounter the same natured Mesprit for the rest of the game. I can only assume that's how it's set in HG/SS as well. I'm not sure about IVs though.

Need a expert opinion, i started Ev training my Munchlax at level 1, and i started using macho brace at around level 16 he evolved at level 32 he is now level 35. I forgot to wright down how many Grimer i have killed but it has to be over 100. Does anyone know if i am done Ev training him for hp?

P.S At level 1 i was using exp share to give him hp ev's as well.

yes using daisy oaks massages 8 of them will max out your beauty
as for the pokemon like magnezone or probopass they are unobtainable and must be traded from a sinnoh game

It's actually easier to evolve Feebas in HG/SS than it is in the other games, although more time-consuming unless you abuse resetting your DS clock. You can't see the Beauty stat, but you can still raise it by getting massages from Daisy Oak in Pallet Town. This is easier since this method isn't influenced by what nature your Feebas has. I'm told you need 7 massages to have enough Beauty for Feebas to evolve...and 8 to max it out.

There's also debate on whether or not the haircuts in Goldenrod also raise Beauty, but more people say that it doesn't...so just massages~

There's no way to know for sure based on those numbers. I'd say just get another 50+ EVs just to be sure of yourself (which hopefully brings you up to the 255 max), or reset your EVs back down to 100 and try again.
