  • of course! Alongside G/S/C, I sometimes do a full run on Red (on emulator, that is). It's really fun, and it definetly takes you back. :)

  • Who doesn't still play should be the question; Anyway, I play it all the time, I have Blue and Yellow on an actual cartridge but it's broke :( So I just ROMS & Emulators ~ There really run and really place the nostalgia glasses back on your noggin'

I do quite often... Doing green version on a ROM now. I wish my cartridges all worked, I could complete the dex really easily then. I'll have to pop in R/B into my GBASP to see which one I'm trying to do the dex on. I think a lot of people play them, just not nearly as often as Gen IV... Or V.

  • I still play RBY quite a bit. :) I love the music, the sprites, everything. Plus it's nice to breeze right through them. What kind of metal/color mod would I be if I didn't? XD

  • Nope, may Blue cart is long since dead, sadly, and I'm not even trying to get the ROM for it...

Yes, I have Leaf Green, but it doesn't quite capture the feel of the originals (not to mention I miss having Slash on Persian go critical every time...)

I play them on emulators fairly frequently, mainly for challenges/other interesting runs these days. I played Red and Yellow a bit last summer to make some teams for Stadium 1 and 2 (which I finally beat after nearly a decade), and they were working fine when I checked them at Christmas, but I don't know if their still working now or not. My Gold, Blue, and Crystal games are dead, but I recently bought some new batteries in hopes of getting them working again (though I think Blue has other, unfixable problems beyond the battery issue). At this point, only Red, Yellow, and Silver still work from the first two generations, but I don't want to put that much more time into the actual cartridges until the batteries die and I have to replace them, as I figure they won't last much longer anyway.

I play Yellow from time to time since I have a cartridge still. XD Blue has been dead forever, but occasionally, I'll play the older games on ROMs, along with G/S/C. I still enjoy them as I did back when but it's been a while since I actually sat down and played them and got into them for hours.

Of course i do play Red and Blue! Red was my very first game - ever. But it disappeared or broke don't know really. Untill 3 years from now (february/march 2008) when i bought a GBA + Red & Crystal from a friend. Have played them both alot (and i mean a lot) since then.

Actually, i captured Tauros and Kangaskhan today which gave me 151 Pokémon for the first time in my life! So now i am going to showe that of to my friends, then start over. Actually, it was long time ago i did that now, have had 149 captured Pokémon for months!

Well, this is the team i used as a kid/youngster. Remember almost all moves thanks to writing them up on notes, walls, toys and so... :)

    Charizard
    Cut (some has do...)
    Slash
    Fire Blast
    Fire Spin

    Kabutops
    Slash
    Surf
Mega Kick (Could be Punch, but almost sure of kick)
    Hydro Pump

    Electrode
    Thunder
    ThunderBolt
    Swift
Don't know, probably Explosion or so... :D

    Alakazam
    Flash
    Teleport
    Psychic
    Psybeam

Articuno (at my first E4 victory, it was a Pidgeot)
    Fly
    Ice Beam
    Blizzard
    Probably Peck

Mewtwo (at my first E4 victory, it was a Hitmonlee)
    Solarbeam
    Strenght
Mist (thougth it was an awesome attack since he learned it so late in the game :DDD)
    Psychic

All levels around 85-90. seriosly, even tough they have some weird moves they kicked ass.

  • I'm playing through red right now. I only play these games and G/S/C, the newer ones are not that fun.

I'm glad that someone made a thread about this. I still play R/B/Y, in fact these 3 Pokémon games are still my favourites. The original 151 Pokémon were the best. I still play R/B/Y, though mostly on Emulator. Thanks for making this thread, i am glad to know that i am not the only one still loving these classics. :)
