I'm just curious, will we be able to catch Deoxys, or is it just in the game for plot reasons? Also, I love the musical arrangements in this hack. Seriously, you and giradialkia have inspired me to create GBA music. Do you have any tips on composing GBA music btw? I can play songs with my instrument with practice, but that's as far as I can go: I've never really dabbled in music theory, and I suck at sight reading lol. (hope i'm not going too off topic here)
anyway good luck with beta 3! I'm actually curious to see how you're going to give Mewtwo importance in this hack, especially with the current focus on Deoxys lol

First Off just want to say awesome job Chaos , DV is the best pokemon hack I have ever played !
I've captured 188 pokemon ( currently grinding my Dratini to complete the current 190 )

A few minor glitches / bugs i noticed where:

Charizard can't learn Wing Attack since Charmeleon was changed to evolve at lvl 40 and Charizard learns Wing Attack at lvl 36 ( Not sure if this was intentional or not ).

Thanks for pointing that out, it's fixed for the final release (as well as Venusaur learning Petal Dance). Unfortunately I don't think this is worth releasing a Beta 2.2 over.

When in Silph Co. I became trapped where you collect the Card Key by not battling the grunt next to the teleporter pad.
I didn't battle the grunt prior to teleporting therefore after i collected the Card Key he walked towards me trapping me in the one wide lane. - Not the best explanation but I don't think I can post screenshots sorry :(

Fixed for the next release as well :)

Edit : Also I was wondering if you planned on adding another Up - Grade item for Porygon so you could complete a living Pokedex. ( ie have Porygon 2 and Porygon Z ).
Porygon 2 and Dragonite are the only two Pokemon I am currently missing for my living Pokedex from the current 190.

Infinite Up-Grades and Dubious Discs will be available postgame.

Thank you. Will beta 3 take longer than beta 2? It seems like beta 3 will have a lot more in it due to the elite four, victory road,8th gym and post game if it's included in the next update.

Yes, Deoxys will be catchable in the final release, but only during postgame.

As for composing GBA music, I use a free program called AnvilStudio which lets you make midi's. It's pretty simple to use. If you want to create decent compositions though, you would have to know the basics of music theory and basic piano. I naturally know a lot about music theory simply because I played in band and sang in choir in high school, and I have perfect pitch, meaning I can identify the name of a pitch by hearing it; which is what allowed me to make an midi rendition of Pokémon Origin's bicycle theme, which you hear in-game on Routes 16-21.

And yes, I'm glad my plan is working at confusing people why Deoxys appears to be the main focus. All I will say is, even if it doesn't seem like it yet, in the final release, you will find out that Mewtwo actually plays a huge role in the plot :)

True, but in those 5 cities there is the E4, the climax of the Rocket Plot, Victory Road and the postgame that from CR has implied, will be a lot more expansive than other games

All I will say is that Mew will be catchable in the game at Faraway Island like in Emerald, but it will be after you beat the Elite Four.



Maybe I would have actually considered changing it had you phrased your posts more politely instead of demanding I change Pidgey's moveset, as if my decision to copy the official game's moveset was a direct attack on you ("uncalled for"?). If you don't like it, then go complain to Game Freak for making it that way.

And FYI, I gave the Pidgey family Brave Bird instead of special-oriented Hurricane.

Congrats on the Dragonite, but just so you know, Dratini's first wild appearance is planned for Route 23 (hence its evolutionary levels being changed to match the Deino line). I personally don't consider the Smoochum and Dratini lines as "available" in Beta 2 even though they technically are (Jynx will appear in Seafoam Islands and Dratini/Dragonair will appear on Route 23).

Thats sad if gamfreak did that because my Pidgeot is level 40 aith the same moveset. I would be happy if it had aerial ace at least.

Aerial Ace is found in Route 9, the one between Cerulean City and Rock Tunnel as it was in Fire Red. You're also given Return relatively early on in the game iirc and Pidgey, being with you from the start, should have enough Happiness to take advantage of it.

Fantastic piece of work. I enjoyed beta 1 so much, I just restarted my game for beta 2.

Question: does the Eevee you get from the egg learn hidden abilities when you evolve it? I wanted an Espeon via the sun dust item, but all it gets is synchronize.
When it hatched, Eevee had run away and not adaptability, so I don't know if that matters.

So I'm playing this on my psp, and every time I try to use Flash Cannon with my magneton the game freezes. It works fine on my pc so I know it's just the psp's emulator, has anyone else encountered this?

I had the same thing on GBA4IOS.
I made the animation and it definitely works on PC, both No$GBA and VBA.
I don't really get it.
