Never been on a plane, and it's definitely not making me want to try lol

Uh, keep in mind that probably hundreds of planes are launched from every major airport a day. You're probably more likely to be hit by a car while crossing the street than being in one of these planes.

    Yeah, see, that's the issue.

If I'm more likely to get hit by a car, I've almost gotten hit by a car three times this year - twice walking, once riding my bike - because people aren't watching for pedestrians and are texting on their cellphones and suddenly lurch and accelerate forward over the sidewalk.

I was literally bent over the hood of a car with my hands on the hood because some elderly guy accelerated quickly when not even looking at me to get over the sidewalk and onto a busy street, where traffic wouldn't have allowed him to merge anyway.

Another lady pulled an illegal U-Turn.

One lady was texting on her phone and decided to move forward and almost T-bone me on my bike.

So if I can almost get hit by a car three times in less than six months, I don't wanna risk getting on a plane because I have balogna luck apparently.

Yeah, another inch and that one guy would've thrown me into traffic. It was bull.

He just waved at me and smiled, and I was like, "The Hell? That's totally fine by you?"

The intersection merges off a highway and lots of traffic coming in both directions. He was looking to his left and I was coming from his right, paused a moment because I was skeptical. He didn't even look my way because I guess he wanted to turn right, so that's the only traffic he cared about? Way too many cars, though, and he just kept looking, so I walked in front of him on the sidewalk and he suddenly sped forward and yeah, it was bad.

I meant "I got hit by some cars, so therefore a plane I board will disappear/crash." ._.

lol XD well, it's not a sure thing, but if you're saying the chances I get hit by a car are far higher in a single year... and in sixth months, it's happened three times almost...

Well, maybe I should try the lotto before a plane. Then at least if the worst statistically happens, then at least I'll have been rich once :P

Trend shows that in a year, that's six almost-hits, which means in a lifetime, that's 60(80) - estimating 80yr lifespan - or 4,800 close-encounters in my lifetime. And yet, if it's a rare chance encounter to be hit once in a lifetime, then I'm 4,800x more likely to experience a plane crash, comparing the chances.

So if it's a 0,000001% chance that a plane'll crash with me on it, the 4,800 multiplier makes it a 0,0048% chance. Still stupidly low, but 0_0 luck has yet to be on my side!

This just sounds like paranoia lol

That said, I am scared of planes, and the recent events don't help, but I am going to Cuba in February :) I will have a heart attack and die on-flight, though. Won't even make it there.

At first I was confused when you said 'visiting Cuba' then I looked at your profile and saw 'Ontario' aka 'Canadian' and I was like "oooooohhhhh."

Yeah, I just got my passport a few weeks ago, so this'll be my first trip :D Haven't even been to the US (and do not want to go). I went to Nova Scotia, PEI, etc. when I was like ten, but asides that, no travelling yet :(

I just want a loveydovey vacation during reading week with my sweetpea. He says Cuba is awesome. He's been twice I think, and to Florida a few times, and the Dominican Republic this past year.

I'm kinda jelly though. My dad makes 40,000$/yr after tax, and has four kids, didn't have child support, etc. His parents bring in like 150,000$/yr @_@ MIND BOGGLING.

Yeah, I'm an American and therefore can't go to Cuba from here because of the embargo that's been going on since the Cuban Missile Crisis, you know, Cuba has communism and the US has a mixed economy of capitalism with a dash of socialism and therefore we want nothing to do with each other.

I like you. You're a good person. But this is not how statistics work.

Have a drink, take half a sleeping pill. Lots of ways to relax while flying!

Oh, I've heard a bit about it. Your guys' relations aren't too great :(

I just hope it's nice. I want to backpack in Europe, too, and visit Japan and Australia :) someday.

Oryx, I know you don't like Maddox anymore, but I'm posting this video he made regarding airline fees because I just agree so much with it and because we just happen to be talking about airlines for some reason:

I will be honest. I have been drinking.

I have no appetite today. I kinda want to eat an apple, but food is disgusting to me right now. So repulsed.

I have no more alcohol, though :(

    Those pics are hilarious lol

I'm downloading demos on my 3DS atm. Is it bad that I saw the 50% off and the free demo for this game:

    https://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/CEYMEf5KenQe4iULJnaI6H6lAWUiEaCE

and felt everything thusfar is just so inappropriate lol >> If you guess what I'm thinking (relevant to current and recent events), I'm a bad person lol

I'd gladly pay a fee to be knocked out with anesthetics during long flights. I'd also pay a fee to immediately be put on Vicodin upon waking up, because I remember it felt really good to wake up on Vicodin after being knocked out for wisdom teeth removal.
