News: Legendary Pokémon, Rival and Rotom unveiled

I'm pretty sure they want to make these games as easy as possible, and making many Pokemon available in one set of games would do just that. Pokemon Super Mystery Dungen managed to compress 720 Pokemon into the one game which would indicate that they would try to achieve that, or at least close to that in Sun & Moon. In X/Y the Regional dex totalled upto 454 from 3 separate areas all containing a similar amount of Pokemon, that's by far the most of any mainseries Pokemon game to date. If they're to follow up from that then I'd expect the number to be around about the same if not higher. The dex is once again split into multiple areas, so I presume that each island will be comprised of a similar number of Pokemon to take the total upto around 500 considering there are 4 islands we can see so far.

To be honest, I would prefer there to be more new than old. I wasn't a fan of how many Old Pokemon were in Kalos. Not only did it hurt the number new pokemon. It just left a bad taste in my mouth. I prefers Unova over Kalos, pokemon wise, even though Kalos had a lot of awesome looking pokemon.

I'm predicting 150 new mons. 30 new per dex, 18 evolutions to old mons, and then the ret of each dex is filled with old pokemon.

I think that Hoenn's dexes (both original and Gen VI) had a good mix of Gen III mons along with past mons (and future in the case of OrAs'). Sinnoh and Johto's were also pretty good. BW's all new was kind of off putting. While B2W2 and XY seemed to have added too many old mons. Well it wasn't so bad for B2W2 as it was like 300 and half were Gen V mons.

Lillie seems like she will be an interesting character in these games. I know we don't know anywhere near enough about her, but it definitely seems like she will have some sort of major role in the storyline and I personally think she will be the champion. That interview with the Pokemon Director where he gave the hint "flowers" would make a sure reference to Lillie for obvious reasons, it's just a question of what the hint signifies. Previously I was convinced that it was to do with AZ's Floette, but now after learning about Lillie I'm definitely leaning towards some heavy emphasis on her being a very important character through the game.

I doubt she is the champion. She is our age. Only way I can see her being the Champion is if she is our rival. Even then I doubt it.

The flowers hint, I think was just a reference to Hawaii. Each island uses a different colors flower to give lais to visitors and what not.

I do agree, I can't really see her being the champion. Secondary rival seems like the closest thing, which could be interesting since it'll form a trio of the protagonist, Lillie and Hau. The last time we were able to have a main trio with two females was if you played as Hilda in B/W where the trio was Hilda, Bianca and Cheren.

Idk, she seems to be portrayed in a similar way to how Diantha was in X/Y before it was revealed that she was the Champion. As for the age I don't really think that would be much of an issue. In RBY/FRLG your rival who was the same age as you turned out to be the Champion, so it wouldn't be totally out of the question. It just feels like she's more than a typical rival and I could be completely wrong, but there certainly seems to be some mystery surrounding her right now.

I think she could be the champion too, or maybe an E4. Of course she could also be the 8th gym leader. The 8th gym leader in the odd gens tends to be treated as a surprise or mystery.

Going with Moon, Rotomdex is awesome. That white island in the middle is probably the artificail island and could be the Pokémon League

Now that I think about it, I wouldn't mind someone mentioning something like it. Maybe Magearna will have some lore to a certain town, like how Shaymin was part of Floaroma Town's lore.

It didn't happen with Manaphy according to Bulbapedia's list of Manaphy events, non of them match the release dates of regions.

However, we have had an event given a distribution since as early as BW with the Liberty Ticket. B2W2 followed up with Genesect, XY with a H.A. Torchic (with the Blazikenite), and OrAs with a shiny Beldum (with the Metagrossite). Irc Victini was revealed prior to BW's release, so we will likely we will get Magearna on November 18. I expect such an announcement to be made in this month's corocoro or next month's.
