News: Legendary Pokémon, Rival and Rotom unveiled

I'm thinking that the third legendary will be the trademarked name "Marshadow" considering how Solgaleo and Lunala turned out to be real. Martian and Shadow could be a combination of the name for Marshadow. Martian for obvious reasons of being a species from another planet and then shadow for the eclipse aspect to compliment the Sun & Moon themes of Solgaleo and Lunala.

If all those trademarks turned out real (Solgaleo, Lunala and the starters' Japanese names) then I wouldn't be surprised if Marshadow was real as well. I heard speculation its typing could counter both Solgaleo and Lunala, as an inversion to how both Yveltal and Xerneas were immune to one of Zygarde's own types.

Marshadow just makes me think of marshmallows really

Marshadow would probably more about the sea of shadow it will represent the 3 parts of the shadow, umbra, penumbra and antumbra.

I probably can't expect Marshadow to be officially revealed until after game release, considering that was mostly the case for other third-wheel mascot legendaries like Giratina, Rayquaza and Kyurem.

I read some "speculation" really just fan theory for Marshadow that I actually think would be really cool, if it was incorporated. But I doubt it would be.

The theory was that Sun and Moon will be true squeals to X and Y, and that Zygarde will also play a bigger role. Basically we have Sun and Moon represented by Solgaleo and Lunala, then Zygarde represents Earth and Marshadow representing Mars. Zygarde and Marshadow's battle is to represent peace and order vs war and chaos.

It further went on to say that, the ghost girl that you found in X and Y that says "youre not the one" is actually Mashadow taking on a human appearance trying to find the trainer that can unlock Zygardes 100% form, so that it can have its battle with him. (And in Sun/Moon the protagonist is the one)

Again none of this will happen, but I think it'd be a really good story arch

Y'know I think it would be really cool to see Zygarde some how tied into the storyline of Sun & Moon. It felt like Zygarde was shafted in Gen VI, so I'm half expecting it to take some role in the next games. Idk how exactly they could link it in, but the speculation Migit referenced seems pretty sound! We still have the alternate Zygarde forms that have yet to have a proper role and I do remember reading how Zygarde Cell is powered by sunlight sooo..

What about the rumored Gigareki? It's name was found shortly after Solgaleo and Lunala's. Perhaps it'll be the trio master of the three like Ho-oh and Arceus had trios from their gens that they're the creators of.

That was filed by Gamefreak, not the company that filed the trademarks for everything else. Someone brought up awhile ago that gigareki means something like super energy. It's theorized this could be linked to a new concept being synchro evolution like many expect.

Now that might make it special. Of course GF does have other games, so it could be something else.

Giga means Giant or great in greek or latin (forget which language it's derived from). I'm not sure about Reki in any language I'm aware of.

Couldn't gigareki be the infinite energy or whatever it's called that was mentioned in ORAS?
I have theorized that the Alola legends could be connected to Infinite Energy. But I also think that Zygarde has a link to it. We'll see if they'll bring back the concept for plot purposes.

I saw awhile back( can't remember where) it translates to like super energy, the infinite energy theory, was something I saw people attribute it to though. So it could be possible that this is the case with it.

Hmm, now that I think about it, there is a possibility that Gigareki might not be a Pokėmon but a concept like Mega Evolution. Perhaps it's related to the rumored Synchro Evolution.

Yeah a lot of people seem to think it's some type of mechanic. It doesn't seem to make a pokemon name, and GF usually does this for mechanics and such, so it's possible. Perhaps the E3 trailer will shed light on it....

Or Corocoro. Irc, Megas were announced in June. If the new mechanic requires showing off new Pokémon forms like Megas did then they should begin showing them off now or next month.

E3 would be their best option to reveal something as major as Syncho/New Mega concept. I'm atleast expecting a few new Pokemon to be revealed, but I wouldn't be surprised if this was also added to the mix.
