Hello there! I know my username is DarkestMidnight, but just call me Midnight or whatever you want (I'm down for some cool nicknames). I'm not quite sure if I want to join since I don't want to be completely dedicated to consistently follow series that others are throwing at me. I'm a pretty busy person and I'm trying to finish a few different anime rn already. Give me a few days and I'll get back to you on my decision. Thanks! :)

Brigadoon and Honey Mayonnaise sound like great options, two anime I wanted to watch but never got to. Since don is busy the next three weeks, maybe Honneamise is a good option.

Maybe some Bubblegum Crisis would fit with its length.

I already have texhnolyze with me as well as Mnemosyne. Both series I've been putting off for far too long. I wouldn't mind giving them a shot with you guys. Or have we decided on something already?

    YES FAM

Nah, almost nobody has responded to this yet. I'll send some reminder posts to profiles later on.

BTW that Mnemosyne is borderline awful. It'll be a good one to watch once the club is more established though, just for a laugh.

Shit wait why did I put this off for so long? I've basically been only watching seasonal stuff since the start of 2016, so a watch along'd be a fun push, especially since my "To Watch" list grows a lot faster than it deflates. So count me in, if you'll have me.

And as far as shows go, assuming this isn't too early, I've Kyousou Giga's been one that always gelled with me from the little promotional material and art I've seen around. Well, more like intrigued. In that I have no idea what the hell it is but I can't help but want to know more. And though the artwork's familiar I rarely hear mention of the show itself for its merit.

Aaaaand that's all I really want to throw out there for now, though my mind has been on Katanagatari lately and I doubt it'll be anything short of fantastic. I'd say the episode length is kind of a commitment but since we're considering Mnemosyne that probably won't be much of a problem. And yeah, I'm totally down to re-explore Kare Kano. Submarine's something I've been eying for good while now, as well.

    Please not Kare kano D=.
I avoid the romance tag like the plague.

Another interesting one I just came across
    Gankutsuou

Perhaps we should chuck up a poll ? or arrange a time and we can talk on discord?.

Really? looks like my type of show though and the reviews are good =/ personal preference I guess.

I'm down for honneamise then. What do you think of perhaps the old gundams? eg original and zeta. I've seen most of zeta but have the original box set here unopened.

    Kyousou Giga
    Katanagatari.

Both excellent series. Katanagatri would certainly mean taking it down to 1 or 2 episodes per week but that's fine as it's only 12 episodes.

I was hoping we could be self contained really, and only migrate to im if we ever do a group watch event where we sync up our media players.

I'll send a few messages out to the members that haven't put forward any series. After that I think we should perhaps just exclude any that people really don't want and then go from there.

This is a pretty rough selection process I know but I will try to get it refined as we go.

Starts out well but falls flat on it's face when it actually starts trying to explain what's going on. It's pretty fun to watch but yeah, I'd rather we didn't start with this one (It might scare people off).

FYI you've made it my mission to find a romance series that changes this. Everybody needs a bit of love now and again.

Just from my experience around this site I doubt the masses would be up for watching huge franchises like Gundam. If there are 3 or 4 of us that really want to I think we could set up a satellite thread or have an ongoing faction in here. Think that's something to sort out once we have the first shows picked though.

So I've been giving the selection process a little bit more though and have come up with a few ideas.

    All of them start with people putting forward their ideas, then it splits into a few options;
    a) We watch the first one that gets more than half of the group's backing
    b) We remove all of the ones people feel strongly against watching and then put them in a random choice generator like this.
    c) Similar to part B but I take the place of the random generator and pick the most elite and glorious option for the good of the group.

I've sent out the reminders so hopefully we'll have a few more suggestions later on.

    Pokestick good times.

Option C sounds pretty glorious. Nothing's more effective than a representative dictatorship. I vote for it, for the sake of keeping to the club's theme of high-class and unknown pearls.

Surprisingly, I didn't watch Brigadoon neither Royal Space Force, so I'm in for any of those :D

    Edit
Also, the generator will help lol

Hello everyone, Midnight here back with my decision. So I decided that I'd like to join your club, it seems like a fun idea and it'd be good for me to expose myself to series that are a bit out of my comfort zone. Can't wait to see what you guys have in store.

If you want a suggestion that's not super mainstream (Like Fairy Tail, lol I run the Fairy Tail Club on PC btw), I'd recommend Gakusen Toshi Asterisk even though I'm only on episode 6 right now. I'm not sure if you people have heard of it or even watched it, but if not I'd love to watch it along with you to have some good discussion.

Anyways, thanks for making a cool club like this, I feel like I'll really enjoy this.

    -Midnight :)

    (B) seems like the best choice to me =).
Feel like (A) would be a very slow process.

If we will be following two series perhaps we could have option B for series one and C for series 2.
Additionally a balance in genres could be a good idea? ie one serious show whilst the other more light.

Yeah, a balance in tone is a very good idea. When I'm watching a couple of competed shows together I tend not to watch the same genre so this will certainly work.

Although with Brigadoon seemingly being a pretty balanced show we could still pick pretty much anything. From a MAL review, ''You want series mech (or very mech-like) battles? Heartwarming family drama? A world endangering conspiracy? Goofy comedy? Yuri undertones? Dark psychological drama? Brigadoon brings all of these ingredients together.''.

I'm definitely keeping the user pick selection so there really is only 1 other main slot. I'd vote C tbh.
