After first seeing a playthrough of this we were sort of like. Yes. Yes, a Reason.

Overall, the whole thing is very well presented... but more than anything, it was an excuse for us to do some proper pokemon hybrid spriting for the first time in some ten years.

A whole bunch of things seem to have not had their collision detection turned on, though.
The Eviolite cave's got pretty much none, the right path in the sewers once you split up with Erika's got a device near the left wall you can walk through, while the big blue walls on the left path option are completely traversable like floor tiles.
The the line of tiles directly below the bridge over the river in Pewter city thinks it's solid land.
The sides of several staircases, too. Going to point out this one: If you walk onto the staircase that Mr. Fuji stands in front of once you see of the Rocket Grunts from the side, then go behind him and end up talking to him, you can get completely stuck, you just freeze there.
All the tables and instruments on the S.S.Anne have no collision. You can stand on top of the piano. We imagined ourself singing a stirring rendition of "I need a Hero" whilst standing there.

You can access PCs whilst facing away from them. This is amusing, but silly.

Fossil Guy in Mt.Moon says "ressearch" is done on reviving fossils, instead of "research"

Also, we were wondering. Types.
Normal/Flying always carry the Flying.
Gastly line always carries the Ghost.
Magnemite line carries its Steel/type 2 with its head and Electric/type 1 with its body...
Any other pokemon who carry their types contrary to what the base rule of "head carries its type 1, body carries its type 2 where possible, but otherwise carries type 1" says?

... So you know what, thank you for making this an giving us a reason to go back to the good old days of spriting hybrids. Look at our beautiful children. We still have much to do, but it is a good way to pass time.
03c0b68a84.png

... and gastly's face is a pain to work with, that is all.

I think you should work on the Pokémon Sprites, cause most of the your pokemon are facing towards you. Don't take this as any complains since you have worked on more than 22000+ Pokemon Sprites! But as you get closer to the final release, i thought that it would be okay to maybe slowly work more on the Pokemon Sprites.

Hey
I would like to translate the game into german.
You could intigrate a language changer.
I think i would have a lot of fun to create compatible names they work in german.
sorry but my english isn´t the best;)

Hi,
big compliment to the creators. One of the better fan-make pokemon games. I found some issues but overall it was a really great experience.

One of the biggest issues was the lack of removing HMs. I know they should be forgetable like normal TMs but they aren't. I have the last version (2.4) and the change.log indicates the should be forgetable but in game I get the message that HMs can't be forgotten.

HM05 (flash) is and was always underwhelming. Maybe buffing it to make damage at 10-40 base, hitting multiple pokemons in team fights and reducing accuracy by 1 like mud-slap could help. I would consider a typ change too. I mean it's a light base attack so steel (flash canon), psychic (light screen) or fairy (dazzling gleam) may fit. I would prefer fairy because the game lacks fairy attacks.

HM04 (strength) has an similar problem. It has a base power of 80 and is normal typing. The move competes with bodyslam (85 base damage and paralizing chance), headbutt (70 base damage and flinch chance) or mega punch (80 base damage, more ap but lower accuracy). I think it should be fighting typ.

This two HMs are like handicaps in the game and surf, fly (now teleport) are real gifts.

I'm not sure what's the best way to implement different languages in RPG Maker games, but I'd definitely be interested.
Especially since there seems to be lots of German fans of the game for some reason!

Hmm.. I might've overlooked that. They were supposed to be forgettable and I'm pretty sure they were at least at some point. I'll look into it. Thanks for letting me know.

The wallet got moved to the route between Pewter and Mt.Moon

But to our point: How? What?
08a464538e.png

What in the coding makes it so that pokemon can randomly switch gender in a fuse of two pokemon of the opposite gender?
I'm going to go and catch a handful more gastly. We tried fusing our charmander with our female gastly too, to test, and it turned out male. ... SCIENCE!
(and see if eventually I can get the dang fusion to spit out a Levitate instead of flipping Blaze)

(also, whoops, the gastly gas around gasmander's flame hasn't been inverted, I should probably fix that at some point...)

Also, a lot of the time you can't talk to people behind... desks? over the desk. Like the Gate Security Guards, and the Celadon Game Corner Prize Shop ladies.

Now that we think about it, on Route 7 there's a rich old lady trainer who, once you beat her, says her pokemon is still feeling sick and asks if you have any medicine. We get the options of giving her a Super Potion, Hyper Potion, or Full Restore, but? It never does anything. You just give and if you talk to her again, she asks again. Her pokemon is forever sick. Is it meant to be like that?
(the preschoolers southwards of her are pretty funny to watch, though, because once we beat them they started spinning at supersonic speed, with no apparent intention of stopping)

Ah yes, the genders are still a bit fucky while fusing. It's pretty much random I think.
Also I didn't know about the game corner prize shop ladies. That's an annoying one for sure.

I'm half tempted to leave the preschoolers glitch in because it actually does sound pretty funny!

Hmmm. We've been prodding at it a bunch and have come to this conclusion:
If it is a fusion between [select1=charmander M, lv21] and [select2=gastly M, lv20], it seems to consistently give a female. For whatever reason. Logic.
Additionally, it always takes all the stats pages (nickname/pokeball/location+date obtained/nature/IVs/ability) of the first pokemon selected of the two; judging by "Which ability does a fused Pokemon get? Fused Pokemon can get either of the first ability of each parent.", the ability, at the least, is supposed to be randomized between which of the pokemon's [Ability 1]'s it selects, rather than just 'which pokemon was selected first?' No, no, wait a moment, having had twelve hours of not actively thinking about it, that's not right at all... it worked with our clefairy/magikarp, it only took like... three tries to get our clefairy's attacks with swift swim... ... and yet something like 20 tries with charmander selected first has given only Blaze, while the four-ish attempts with gastly first has given Levitate every time. ... I think I'm going to have to actually do SCIENCE! and write down how many times this happens now. This is ludicrous.

(also, you probably need to update "There are some exceptions. Normal/Flying types are considered single-type Flying, Gyarados is considered single-type water and the Ghastly line are considered single-type ghost." because of gyarados' gaining of Dark type)

And yes, watching the supersonic children is pretty amusing.

-~-~-
We did some SCIENCE! and now we're... more confused?
Charmanderxgastly = Blaze 5 / Levitate 0

Gastlyxcharmander = Blaze 0 / Levitate 5

Charxother = Blaze 3 [nidoranM] / Other 3 [arbok, intimidate] 4 [meowth, pickup], 3[growlithe, intimidate]

Otherxchar = Blaze 3 [arbok] 1 [meowth] 3 [growlithe] / Other 3 [meowth, pickup], 3 [nidoranM, poison point]

Notes: (pokemon [selected, level] x pokemon [selected, level], moves learned, new level)
Charmander[1, lv21] x Gastly[2, lv20], -, lv21
Charmander[2, lv21] x Gastly[1, lv20], -, lv21
Charmander[1, lv21] x Arbok[2, lv43], tries to learn fire spin, lv43
Charmander[2, lv21] x Arbok[1, lv43], tries to learn gastro acid, lv44?
Charmander[1, lv21] x Meowth[2, lv22], tries to learn faint attack
Charmander[1, lv21] x Growlithe[2, lv43], tries to learn fire spin, lv43
Charmander[2, lv21] x Growlithe[1, lv43], -, lv47?????????????????!? WHAT?! HOW
Charmander[1, lv21] x NidoranM[2, lv10], tries to learn horn attack, lv21
Charmander[2, lv21] x NidoranM[1, lv10], tries to learn horn attack, lv21

I'd like to be able to change the way the layout is for the keys. Like, changing from arrow keys to the wasd things. Like how Uranium has done and every other fangame out there that I can name off the top of my head.

Charmander[2, lv21] x Growlithe[1, lv43], -, lv47?????????????????!? WHAT?! HOW

I think I know what the numbers are doing here. The first pokémon selected morphs into the fusion, while the second pokémon simply ceases to be. When Charmander is first, it becomes a Charlithe. Its attacks, held item, and hidden numbers like Happiness and IVs (I'm kinda guessing here) stay the same. Its total EXP earned also tries to stay the same, EXCEPT it automatically rises to match its highest-level parent's level. I think it also keeps Charmander's ability value (1 or 2, though with single-ability pokemon it's hard to tell) and applies that ability value to charlithe's new Blaze/Intimidate. If you select Charmander first and fuse it with a lower-level Growlithe, its ability value should give it the opposite ability, since Growmander's abilities are Intimidate/Blaze (in the opposite order).

As for your lv47 Charlithe. Since you selected Growlithe first, Charlithe inherits Growlithe's numbers, including Total EXP (not level). All fusions use the fastest EXP curve, while Growlithe does not. This means that the same amount of EXP to raise a Growlithe to lv43 would raise a fusion to a higher level (say, about 47).

Regarding Gender: I dunno. My guess is that a fusion inherits its gender value (not necessarily its gender) from the first selected pokémon. Since Charmander is male 7/8 of the time, it could have a gender value that's on the female half of the spectrum, but not female enough to beat that 7/8ths. Also, I'm not sure how the fusion-writing algorithms do gender tendencies. Either Charlithe or Growmander could be 50/50 or 7/8ths male, I don't know. This stuff's confusing enough in real life.

Final Note: maybe standardize all pokemon to one EXP curve, since we're all just gonna use fusions anyway. Also, I'm here too now.

Hi,
I kind of hope that we can have an auto-save option, like an option that when enabled, the game can auto-save every time we cured our pokemon at a pokemon center.
