...no, that's cruel and unusual punishment. The whole point of critting is to help guide them...and in some cases, if their plot is well-written but misguided, I give an alternative. Problem arises when several plots here aren't that far yet...it's a long process. It really is.

There's a Choices... event command in there which lets you choose between male and female characters, right? Inside that, there's a pbChangePlayer(0) script call. Take that script and the next script down (should be something like pbDisplayPicture), and copy them to right before the "Are you a boy or a girl?" text. Then, delete the Choices... command, and it should work how you want. I'm not 100% sure, since I don't actually have the event in front of me, but hopefully, it will work.

If you've copied over the event, try playtesting it again.

You'll have to redownload Essentials, and copy the event over to your game.

There should be an event in the top-left corner. If you deleted it, there's your problem.
