There is a swarm each day, now i don't know if this is true but the tv also informs of swarms so there might be two a day so you'd have to check frequently.
I dont know their exact names but there are two fire one is small and blue and the other is big and red. Put them alternating between them in the middle of the pokeball depicted on screen. in solaceon town if you show a boy an unown you get a capsule of that letter unown and thus write out words.

I think what happens to some people is that the way something looks determines how certain things occur like riolu is adorned in dark blue and black making a person think night. but yeah its day, good for you that you got it to evolve. =P
