  • You too? Both things?

    This is awesome.

As for network engineer, it's something I like. The overall "set up a network and all your subjects are happy" feeling is quite good. Also the abstraction level is on par with programming and one gets to play very nice hardware<─>software games with routers and the like. Also the ability to interconnect may, may different devices. A friend once adapted a frequency scanner so that it would be plugged to the network and act as a one-pass challenge to the server room: we would simply have our cellphones in range and send an e-mail from inside the building to confirm it was really us...

What I don't like is the wires. Oh Arceus the amount of wires. Even when you think Wifi is going to free us then you find you still have to deal with the power cords and adapter bricks. And why doesn't people label wires, Cat6 particularly...? I mean it's not too much ask for, when you're in a room with at least 380 similar wires and plugging off the wrong one spells a weekend extra worth of work! Where is the T1 LAN feed from the contiguous building? Where? WHERE!!!!

Sorry I was having a nightmare.

PD: "Arceus" is the only word my spellcheck program picked as wrong. Setting up to correct that-I don't want to infuriate a God! and be made to miss Arceus events forever
I'll have to figure that one out. I don't actually have chat yet, cuz I don't have my new computer yet, but I'll be getting it before next week. I'll tell you when I know...
No. I mean yes-- It was my fault, a case of "will be thinking while was writing" if you want. Our group's work was the simulation, you know, computers. There was another group of meteorologist wannabes.

Electrical engineer? Applied to what? Cars, buildings... airborne aircraft carriers? That's good. Computer engineers have it to wicked with the current pace of technology, I'd rather want computer analyst.
    Yeah, heavily.

(One True Love Job, just in case. Meteorological simulation and diagnosing where the other assistant happened to be all friends of mine! And we would eat pizza on Saturdays while watching the cluster running Fortran code! It was just too darn good to have been real. Then maybe it wasn't...)
No, I was opting for a job and I had already made to the "let's introduce you to the personnel" stage but then things went down the toilet. My OTL job I lost too long ago...
The usual. Enjoying a TVTropes walk while it's heavily raining like a carpetbombing of water outside. Thinking what to do with my life since I lost an opportunity to get a job.

Maybe some more Rule 34 to rise my mood and something else... or better yet, end that darn wikiwalk and read my mail! :D
