  • Congratulations! That distinction sounds like it was well deserved. :D You could try telling them that you don't feel comfortable with singing on stage, at least for the time being.
Try not to let your classmates get the better of you. As long as you're comfortable with your posture, then singing will be more easier for you. Incidentally, you'll feel more confident as you carry on singing.
Remember what we discussed. Make yourself as comfortable as possible and focus only on your singing.
................................................... everything is greyyyy, or graayyyy..............
Oooh, I would love that! XD; So hungry at the moment. And you're welcome! I'm glad to have a friend in you as well. :D Bye.
Aw, you're very welcome. Glad I was able to help. =D And it's a name of my own creation. It's not from an anime, but it was a name I used here two years ago.
Hm, I can see where you're coming from on that. But they're definitely flimsy reasons to be nervous. You go ahead and do your thing. :3
It's a natural emotion. When you first hear of the contest then of course you would feel confident in your ability. But when the time is nearing then you can feel your heart pounding like it's no tomorrow. You're nervous, it's understandable. Even actors and singers still get nervous despite their experience, yet they still manage to do well in the end. As much as anxiety is a nuisance do deal with, it's not impossible to control it so it doesn't affect you as much. Remember, your singing is your priority, it's the only thing you need your focus on.
But you've got to swallow your fear on this one. Singing in front of people can be very embarrassing if you let it get to you too much and chances are you wouldn't perform well if you allowed yourself to be bothered by it. I don't know why your classmates would think making eye-contact is the best way to go, it's easy to get yourself distracted and even intimidated that way. Just make yourself as comfortable as you can, take a deep breath when you need to and simply close your eyes. Block everything else around you and let your voice lead the way.
Yeah, it's very nerving to have to stand in front of crowds and sing, but it's definitely good that people applaud your singing voice. If and when you do sing, you could just focus on the song itself rather than face the crowds. Word of advice, unless you need to read the lyrics in order to sing, it would be better if you close your eyes while singing. That way you wouldn't have to look at the crowd.
Ah. Contests like that can be a heavy burden when you're forced to join against your want. Can you actually sing? o_o
