  • I used to spend a lot of time on 4chan but now I only occasionally visit 1 board (but which will remain a secret). Greentexting is just a habit now. Greentexting and inb4ing.

The painful thing about the true ending is getting all of the collectibles. I only got a few because I just wanted to get through the game for the story, but then when I actually went through and got the true ending it took a LOT more time (because I didn't use a guide and that was a bad idea).
Oh man, that's the first time anybody's called me out on my greentexting. I prefer using > to bullet points because I don't like the indent before the bullet point (and it's hard to bullet point life).

But yeah, Mad Father's ridiculously short unless you go in blind and try to get the true ending right away. Then it takes some time, but it's time spent smashing things.
The same friend who loves Umineko also constantly preaches about how great the Higurashi anime is but I really don't want to watch it because
    >I don't think it's "the perfect example of horror"
    >I watched 2 episodes of Higurashi Kira and I was so, so confused by the direction that the series took
Oh! Oh. I thought you were referring to a non-NPC character for a moment. Whether I give you permission to use Zack depends on what you plan to do with him. Could you run a scene by me real quick just describing the major actions you plan to have him take? (PMs, if you can.)
That's a shame, there are some pretty good games out now. And I'm sorry to ruin Lyn for you. It's always awkward to hear people talking about how hot she is, though.

Gnome's H-Scene was a major disappointment. I don't quite know how else to say it without going into TMI territory.

Let's see here. First I'd reccomend going for a mythos theme. Persona 1 and 2 were based on the Lovecraftian Mythos, Persona 3 is based on Greek mythology, Persona 4 is based on Japanese mythology... you need some sort of unifying theme to link together the antagonists and perhaps maybe the players. I'd recomend either not having a wild card or having the player for it be really good. Make sure that they have to put in the effort to prove they're capable for it, because trust me, everyone is going to ask. I also strongly recomend doing research into the different Arcana, make sure you know what they all mean and such and ask for the players to make sure that their chosen arcanas match up to the characters. The worst of the lot to be misinterpreted are definitely Death and Devil. People get those wrong so many ways that it drives me up the wall. Talismans or personal items of value seems like a good idea for a summoning agent, though. I've seen a few methods used, but I think people are better off coming up with their own ways instead of copying the cards or evokers. I reccomend maybe trying to set out a basic plot skeleton to follow anyways, having some free roam is good, but you're going to want a plotted out structure to lead your players along anyways, or else nothing is gonna happen.

Also, blaaaaaaaghlblah vacations aren't supposed to be busy.
Steins;Gate is really, really good. Much better than Chaos;Head (Robotics;Notes is PS3 only, sadly). But it's pretty sad at times and it contributed to my irrational fear of time travel.

Higurashi and Umineko are both known for having terrible, TERRIBLE character art. I know there's a patch to get the PS3 art for the PC version of Umineko, but I don't know if there's something similar for Higurashi. My friend absolutely loves it, though.
hehe not all :D my fault, should have paid closer attention to the rp :) my bad, but just replied :D
    I have no idea.
I'm fairly sure Redwing has been online and I'm going to check Klar in a second. Feel free to contact them yourself since they may feel more inclined to help out someone in their own group (who is not GM) than someone who isn't.
Japanese to English can be pretty difficult to translate because there are some words and phrases that have no true English equivalent so it's up to the translator to try to make it work. The same goes for just generally forming sentences. Fan translators get a lot of flak for their translations because there are ALWAYS haters. Be too literal and you'll have people whine about how you need to loosen up a bit. Be too loose and you'll have people up your ass about how you're straying from the original message. People in general suck.
Haha. Visual novels, both NSFW and otherwise, are a hobby of mine. I'd enjoy having more big-name titles professionally translated to English, like Umineko but with the PS3 character images because the PC ones are terrifying.
The art isn't that great, the text wraps horribly, and the same scene plays five or six times at the beginning. It's SUPPOSED to, too.
I'm fine with that. There are definitely weirder games out there. And worse. Forest is bad. If you ever get the chance to play Forest, don't.
Haha. It's fine, it's fine. And I think you did, but it could have been someone else too because another person told me to play it. I have it, I just need to start it.
