I'm pretty sure Prince's favorite year was the year he made Purple Rain, stretching across both 1983 and 1984. I could freaking drive 20 minutes to the old Paisley Park Studios building, get in a time-traveling DeLorean, and go back to 1990 and ask Prince himself what his favorite year up to that point was, and then travel back to 2000 and ask him what his favorite year was then.
