Oh, I absolutely hate that. D: Our bookstore does that too, which is made even more annoying by the fact that 92.3% of the books in that section are romantic vampire stories, which combine two things that really annoy me. Which is probably one of the reasons I like science fiction so much, since they usually have better things to do than fall in love. And if they do, then there's usually some sort of sciency thing that prevents them from being together forever. :D
I've noticed music stores are the same way, like when I go to the CD place to get a Simon and Garfunkel CD and I have to dig through all this modern country stuff. Although I guess while at a music store you have more of an idea of what you want, it'd still be nice if they had more specific sections. D:
