I've done it on FR, so you'd have to port it. Also, there's the horizontal and the vertical stairs, and I need warn you the first ones are way harder to do.
Of course, the view will never really 'shift', but for the horizontal stairs I made the player walk diagonally and for the vertical ones I had to speed up the movement.
