When it comes to games, I don't really pay attention to the developers. I just play what seems fun, but I do play a lot of Nintendo games like Mario kart.
What isn't Skyrim about? XD
Skyrim is a game set in medieval times. There are several different races (I'm a wood elf personally) that specialize in different things (archery for the win!). You choose your race, customize your character to your liking, and do whatever you want. As far as the storyline goes, you learn that dragons are pillaging villages. Which, wouldn't be too out of the ordinary for most medieval games, but these dragons have been extinct for so long that the people started thinking they were myths. You kill your first dragon and then find out you're dragonborn. Basically, you absorb a dragon's soul and then convert it into some sort of power called a shout. My favorite shout is Fus-Roh-Dah because I can send my opponents flying off the side of a mountain or whatever.
The beautiful thing about Skyrim is that the game never ends. Sure, you complete the main storyline, but there are so many sidequests that it literally adds up to unlimited gameplay. The map is huge and there's always something new to do. There's so many things you can be from leader of the thieves guild, to leader of a group of assassins. It easily won game of the year from X-play in 2012, and it's not hard to see why.
