  • Yeah, that was a good one! I got super lucky with that paralysis, though I stupidly forgot to re-teach Klefki Thunder Wave after removing Cut earlier. >_< I'm up for a battle any time!
It's all an experiment, right? You'll just have to continue making changes how you see fit.
That sounds good. I think the interest faded after the first week, so it's probably a good idea to change it.
Why thank you! I try to remain level headed because that's probably why I was modded in the first place, so it won't help anybody if I just get arrogant and mean. I've dealt with a couple of mods like that on another forum and it just ends up scaring people away.
That sounds pretty rough. I'm sorry that happened to you.

I'm figuring that if I do something wrong people would let me know, so on that note I must be doing well.
Oh no, you're fine. I appreciate the feedback. I'm still a little new to this whole moderator thing, so I like to see how other people think I'm doing. I've edited lots of my posts before, and one of your posts. It was your first post in your haiku contest where you forgot the "/" in the [/u ] tags.

I'm trying to find that balance between being too nice and too harsh. From your feedback it seems like I'm doing a good job at that, but I think I might be a little too nice. Sometimes I feel I need to be a little more assertive.
Yeah, sure! Though I never know what to trade, since I hesitate a lot if I don't have extras. I've been trading fossils lately, though. Any time you see me online, feel free to ask for a battle/trade! ^-^
I did just close down a thread for crossing the line with that rule/strong suggestion. I just didn't think it was fair to let that story to stay up when the writer obviously didn't make much of an attempt to put some sort of effort into it. Although I am concerned that I was a little too abrasive.
I sure hope so. I mean, I'm glad the section is getting a bit more active. Well, we've had a few new stories today, so that's always good. However, it also seems that along with the new members that want to write, along come some people that just thought that they would try to write a story and wrote it out in five minutes. Oh well, once the new rule gets more recognized like you said fics will hopefully boost in quality.
Yeah, although I think I might have found a thread that needs that rule enforcement. I guess I have to put on my big boy pants and be a little assertive.
I'm just trying to make FF&W a less intimidating place to post.

I don't really see anyone as being the odd-man out. All the ideas that people are posting are pretty good. It's just a matter of how applicable they are to the specific section.
That's funny because I thought I was the odd-man out. I thought I was being too stubborn and people were getting annoyed with me. XD
I don't think you're getting on people's bad side. Have you been receiving any bad VM's or anything that would suggest that? I like your ideas so far, so I think you're doing fine.
Really, I'm open to every idea people can come up with.

As far as rallying reviews, I'm not sure how to go about it. I think people will just have to deliberately go out and review. I'm personally waiting for the weekend when I have more time, so I'll have to wait until then to really find out if people are willing to review more. Like I said in the big thread, I don't want to spend hours making prizes and congratulating everybody on every little thing they do. I would think getting your name known and therefore more views on your fic would be incentive enough, but I guess I'm wrong.
I personally don't have a problem with it, but might I make a suggestion?

When I decided to post my fic on another forum despite already having seven chapters completed, I did weekly updates. This way, I got as many reviews as possible, since people might be a little overwhelmed with nine chapters. One chapter a week was enough to keep the interest there, but I did have to keep reminding myself to update.

You're fine to do whatever you want, but there's my two cents.
Thanks for the tip. I'll have to get it next time I'm hooked up. I'm not sure when that will be, but I'm sure it will happen eventually.
Actually, I don't have the wifi to share friend codes right now. Actually, I don't even know what my friend code is. Sorry.
Eh, yeah, I'll have to I think.

Also, so long as you don't run into too many holes, I think the idea's pretty good. It would also serve to help bring activity into the writing section, which sounds amazing, in my book.
