  • I hear most Nintendo systems are near indestructible. I wish my Gamecube still worked. :(

    I'll send you a PM.
I do, but I use it to check up on others more than I do to post about my life. I never have anything interesting to say, so I don't post there.

Those systems were a bit before my time. Though I guess my father did own a NES at one point. I don't remember it though.
Yeah, I can understand. PC is not my most visited site anymore like it used to be years and years ago. I personally am on Reddit the most these days. *coughs*

So what was around when you were a kid? When I started gaming, it was on the SNES and original Gameboy.
tbh 3rd gen is one of my least favorite, but I'm still pretty excited and will play the hell out of it. I need more Pokemon in my life!

Yeah, hope there's some better postgame too. X/Y's is pretty minimal. .__.
Yeah, rack up some points in Bank!

That reminds me, I've got lots of Mudkip to WT. Did it for fun when I heard about the R/S remakes.
Zoura's one of the cooler shinies. :) Hopefully you'll have better luck!
Yup, that's how balls get passed down.

I'm half debating re-setting up IV spreads to get my Mareep in a cooler ball than a Great Ball. But I have two 6IV parents, so all my Mareep come out with 5IVs guaranteed. It'd take forever to get back to a 6IV parent. :(
Some people don't like it, yeah. You can try Friend Safari hunting for awhile; shinies are more common there, although not super common.
Are you hatching your eggs in Lumiose? Go to the center of town and prop your joystick with a dime. The hatching is done for you! You can put the game down and do something else if you want.

You may find it easier to load up a box or two and then just switch out eggs at the Pokecenter in Lumiose. I just do 5 at a time because I don't mind going back and forth between daycare and Lumiose.
    Assuming you're breeding in X, that is really weird. Usually I have a shiny within a week if I focus hard on hatching. .___.;
Two weeks and no shinies? That is one hell of a drought. You have a shiny charm, right?
They only added those like 2 days ago! I like 'em. 8)

Yeah, some people are like that. I haven't had much shiny luck the past week either. Sigh.
You get a free Lapras during the game, though. If people want Lapras, they would probably already have that one.

I do suggest Wondertrading some of them. I've got like 2 boxes full of foreign Pokemon right now. I have better luck catching people outside the US either late at night or early in the morning. Also get more IDs for the Lotto too.

Last night I found a shiny Barbaracle in a Friend Safari. I was hoping to find shiny Pupitar or Boldore instead. Nope, stupid goddamn Barbaracle. I gave it to my roommate. If he hadn't wanted it, I was going to Wondertrade it. I almost considered KO'ing it out of spite. >:(

Yeah I know, stupid ungrateful me, but I really dislike Barbaracle.
Some people get into the thousands, even with a shiny charm. It's all luck, really.

I'm several hundred deep in a Lapras hunt myself, it's always discouraging when it takes forever. :( The only good thing is Wondertrading all of the spares. I've learned to IV breed, so I send off 3-5 IV Lapras, although with random natures and no egg moves. No idea if anyone will actually want them, haha.
If you're lucky, you'll get it quickly! :D Even with a shiny charm, it can be hit or miss.
It's always good to have a balanced team.

I did a Wondertrade team, and the thing I hated most was that it wasn't balanced. I did the best I could with the TMs/HMs I had, but there's not much you can do when you're locked into 6 random Pokemon.
