Aaaah... that makes some sense, then.
If you have to start NaNo without the computer, handwrite when you can't type. Buy a notebook or some loose-leaf paper if need be. Sure, it's a lot slower than typing, but it'll get your creative urge out of the way and keep your parents happy, too. It's about all you can do if you just have to write, but can't use the computer.
I know I'll be probably be handwriting over Thanksgiving break. I had to last year. It wasn't that fun, but it got the job done. And I probably will between classes...
