  • I know it is weird, but I like my new school because 1. More girls 2. nicer people, and 3.I live very close to the school so I don't have to walk very far

    I don't know, do they have exams in 8th grade Lol
    It's not necessarily that our parents pick our professions, but it used to be that we take after our parent's professions. Again, we're a Confucian society with strong conservative values. But, as Confucian morals, parents have the ultimate will over the child's future (this is an exception if the child is in government for some reason).

    I'm sure of it.

    But your younger self is still yourself. xD; And that's children's way of seeing things. They can't necessarily put themselves in other's shoes at that point without proper guidance. For them to be rude and selfish on purpose, however, is truly to be shunned. And that's the stress with being an older sibling; you're somewhat an experiment with successes being carried over to the next child...okay, maybe that's a little harsh, haha. And speaking a second language is a wonderful thing. It helps builds memory power and prevents Alzheimer's.
    That's how ordinary conversation goes.

    Of course I do. ^_^ I'm very happy to hear that, Mist. :D I was always considered to be "the little one" wherever I go, whether in size, age, or in maturity. As a junior, I'm one of the few who has yet to turn 16 (I will be on the 30th this month). I don't do much besides go to school and go home, so my life experience has been minimal. And I haven't grown an inch in years ;;

    Awesome job, Mist! (b'')b I'm confident that your Science exams will be to your surprise once you find out the actual score. I'm still skeptical about my performances, though, and what tomorrow will bring....

    Seeya tomorrow, Mist~
    Spoiler:
    Life's been going awesome for me. I am out of my old hell-hole of a school and in a new school. I love my new school. I have tons of new friends, and all that good stuff
    i guess everyone in classs are perverts or something... beats me. 'shakes head' but they're the upperclassmen.
    i acutally say that phrase.
    Oh...well, okay then. XD;

    My parents intend to give me my desired freedom in adulthood, but profession of choice isn't one of them. If I had my way, studying sociology, history, or government would be ideal. I would love to serve in public office one day, and still hold that dream. However, they dislike all forms of politics, and prefer to not think about such things. They completely ignored the 2008 American Presidential election and discouraged me from following it so closely. So instead, I'll settle for a career in science research, which has always been on the table for me (this is after a relentless battle of my not wanting to become a medical doctor).

    No.

    For the most part, I share what you have said. The lack of special qualities is one of the reason why I doubt myself when thinking about future success, or even measuring my success in comparison to my classmates. I don't blame my parents one bit; I've always been an introvert during my youth, not thinking much about the world or my future (the introversion faded during High School, but it still hasn't completely gone away).
    No problem at all. I enjoy sharing quibbles about life.

    Believe in your creativity, Mist; you have them.

    Lucky you. I have a Math test tomorrow (school starts late in Canada since winter lasts longer, I think, so exams are in January), and I'll be awaiting to see if I made the school's Mock Trial team on Friday (which I highly doubt I did).
    I love it when we do what we do
    'cause we do what we do 'til it's done
    I love the way we do what we do
    'cause we do what we do and it's fun
    You're the one

    Tu es ma chance
    Ma préférence, la douceur
    Un don du ciel
    Que je retiens dans mon cœur
    Dis-moi que rien
    Ne nous perdras
    Dis le moi, ah

    When I look into your eyes
    I don't have to fantasize
    You're a dream that's realised
    I'm dancing on the moon inside
    If life is cruel then someone lied, yeah

    yep...
    I think it is a name.
    Yeah, the kids in french class are good cooks. :P
    OH, the french songs we listened to are on some other site that i can't get to.
    It's fine to wait if the status of your computer doesn't bother you much right now.

    Haha, thanks, Mist. That's what I often say about communicating online with people; it has less consequences because people have time to think about what they want to say. It wouldn't really work if law trials were done online, because interpreting non-verbal communication and slip-ups are important parts of deciding the loser and victor in a court case. And during Mock Trials today, I don't think I did so well as a witness. Law won't be my profession, anyhow, and my parents wouldn't approve, anyway. They will refuse to allow me to go on any path in life aside from the sciences (and not even social or political science, either, but physical science).

    I guess. :3 And Bob is probably the most noteworthy example.

    For some people, simplicity is the only way to achieve perfection, since details would cost too much effort and is hard to pull off. xD; I've been described as a perfectionist by some, but I would disagree. Of course, I don't usually notice how I do things.

    I'm fairly easily distracted when it comes to studying, and as you know, I've "winged it" the majority of the time this semester. And it's great that you can transfer your thoughts onto paper. That'll help on timed writings you'll have to do (that is, if your school does timed writings). I agree with Albert Einstein on this: "Imagination is more important than knowledge." I can easily obtain the knowledge to write a History essay, but to imagine a beautiful scenery and write a passionate poem dedicating my love to its majesty, that I cannot easily do.

    Well, it's no problem, really, so long as we can talk at all. Bye Mist.
    Ah. You should try doing a Google search on how to remove it. If it's like Microsoft Office 2007, it takes quite a bit of work to get it off the Hard Drive. You could try to get one of the free ones from the internet; see the Technology section on PC for some advice.

    Oh, well they think that exercise is required for life, that much they accept. However, things like music, photography, Mock Trials, job shadowing, joining a sports team at school are absolutely unnecessary. Do you know about Confucianism? It's the philosophy of vehemently sticking to old traditions and being skeptical of new ones. If people blame Christianity for the slow scientific development in Europe, then Confucianism is to blame for the backwardness of governments in East Asia during the 2nd millennium. As well, Confucian scholars aren't encouraged to find new things, but pass along knowledge already obtained, and extra-curricular interests are absolutely secondary to pure learning. I don't think they're against me making friends as they think that I should keep things at school in school. They've moved and said goodbye to friends many times, and probably think that I shouldn't feel too heartbroken when I have to separate with friends.

    Seeing as how you side with my opponents more than with me (save for that silly seal killing trial), I'd say my influence on you have been minimal :3

    Well, sometimes being simplicity-oriented would solve a lot of emotional problems. However, for pragmatic liberals and perfectionists, the emotional assurance of that isn't enough, and I find that sometimes disappointing.

    I can handle things like exams and loads of handwriting homework fine, much like I had in the States. However, abstract and non-linear homework like studying or essays, I have a problem concentrating on. So if you're good with those, I wouldn't consider myself busier than you at all. I'll really need this Winter Break either way.
    it means awesome actually.
    we had chocolate and strawberry mousse, potatoes au gratin, cheesy au gratin, two types of ratatouille, flan, chocolate balls, and some quiche.
    If your anti-virus program is being virus-ed, I think you need a new program. Of course, that means deleting the program you're using, since I've heard having two anti-virus programs make them work not as well.

    They're pretty conservative Asian about academics. Learn what has been taught, research, and no more. Extracurriculars are silly things to them, and they feel that pure education is enough, which obviously contradicts the feelings of college admission offices. I think they like it that I'm anti-social...@_@;

    What?

    It doesn't in my mind, but of course a lot of stuff are different when sounded in the head than on text. I mean it's like I'm in a cave and there's light at the end. The road to the light in my mind will always be rough and difficult to get through, but I always believe there's an opening at the end which my toiling will lead me to. That thought keeps me going.

    I know, right? We're on that road I'm talking about, and the coming weekend will be the light at the end. /ignore any implications that might have regarding death
