This looks like a fantastic tool! Once you add skipping functionality (to get rid of all that unnecessary stuff, like Boy/Girl choosing and naming the character :silly:) can you please add Emerald support? :3

I'm guessing that you already have an idea for a hack, and you want to know if you can make it. My advice would be instead to do a lot of research to learn all the basics and make a different hack first. Let your first idea sit on the backburner for a while, and when you finish your debut hack...

(I'm assuming the icons are the same in Emerald) In a good hex editor, open up the section of Ruby that you know has that icon. Copy a bunch of bytes and search for them in the Emerald rom. If you get multiple matches, copy more bytes from Ruby and search for that. If you get no matches, copy...

I'm not sure how to do what you're trying to do (though it would be really cool!) but your example violates copyright, which is way illegal most everywhere; if you want to add pokecommunity to the rom, you can't use the (C) symbol, because pokecommunity has zero legal copyrights over the games...

Keep searching, but (if things haven't changed much since I last looked at it) I think that most first- and second-gen hackers actually only map edit just by hex editing :bigo:

If you really, really need more space, I believe XSE has a rom expander that can increase the size to 32 MB. But like TOPT said, you probably won't ever have to expand it if you are smart about using the space you have, and if you are overwriting the old space that you don't use.

1. That first error is odd. What's the memory system set to? (I believe it should be 128k flash, have to check) 2. Did you try enabling and disabling the real time clock setting? Does that affect the second error?
