we're probably decades away from that

on basic graphics. i run it on max and sometimes it'll still stutter because I'm cramming too much activity since the last autosave or my PC is doing too much in the background.

and yet that's in the range of what most consoles deem acceptable

maybe not the games you play

but some games i play it affects the immersion. like a future, properly done Sim City 5. And with framerates it does affect how it plays. 30 FPS is kinda choppy and inadequate, even for games like Civ 4.

also gfx and framerates are thigns to maximize so you're seeing the game the way the devs intended it to be seen.

well I do already have a $200 graphic card, so I could probably use that in the new one. or just get a new card with its full warranty.

first order of business is to source a case.
