That's eventing (JV just gave me a lecture on the difference between scripting, which involves long lines of code, and eventing, which involves... well, y'know. Battles and things). So does Opal have its own scripter, then, or what?

Yeah, yeah. Just make sure you don't spend -too- much time revamping. It all has to do with time budgeting and the like. Here's a tip: when designing fakes, think of a more solid concept that revolves around "changing." Like, have a seed grow into a tree, or a shift from one species to another (one of my favourites of these was a goose barnacle in its first stage and a barnacle goose in the last stage). That helps to avoid fakes that just get larger.

N-no! *flails arms* of course Scarlet LOOKS good! But that doesn't mean they ARE good at all! They just have good artists and spriters, but their plot's just generic and predictable (I thrashed it on page one of their topic). If they didn't have such great artists, it would fall under the radar like most other games. A-and that's why they will fail! It'll be hype backlash because the game just turns out to be more run-of-the-mill, and not what the art promised! S-sorry, I have a sort of vendetta against Scarlet and its ilk.

...Huh, funny, I thought you were a scripter. I know absolutely nothing about programming. xD I am a spriter and writer and designer through and through. You might want to talk to JV, though-- he's very good at scripting.

Yeah. So. Wasn't trying to bash you or your game or anything, of course, but if that's how it looked, I apologize but I can't change it now. :/ The sprites-before-art thing is my personal opinion and suggestion (hence, the fact that it's in the "protip" section), and if you want to keep doing it the way you're doing, go right ahead. *shrug*

About the old fakes thing; I get that too, with Uranium, and I've come to realize that no matter how good your new fakes are, you'll always be called out on the old ones, and be obliged to use it as an excuse. Excuses excuses. Whatever. I get that the tigers aren't an accurate representation of your designing prowess now, but they're still in your Dex lineup, so. Whether you change them or not, though, is up to you.

...Oh dear, natter. Haha. xD Well, there's my rebuttal. You're welcome for the mention, by the way; I was intentionally trying to call out other games that have sort of fallen under the radar. (...Did I talk about Scarlet at all? No? Man, what a case of Sugi-itis those guys have... Trading card game, honestly! When was the last time they released a screenshot? *grumble grumble*)
