Animal Crossing is kind of iffy, as the director said the franchise is too peaceful to have a rep for a violent game like Smash Bros. A character needs to be either adventurous or a fighter.

I'm expecting the obvious choices (King K. Rool, Ridley, Little Mac, Palutena, Takamaru, Mewtwo's return, Shulk, and a WTF historical character) and my personal suggestion, a female trainer.

But only a few number of newcomers will make, and they mentioned that the new game won't add too many newcomers like last time and would rather focus on balancing characters from the current roster.
