  • Hooray! I can't cause I'm on my phone now, but I'll work on it layer. Super excited to see your recolor though!
Okay cool. Here's what I've got. Right now, you're trying to do too much with that Nidoking recolor, and I think it's because you're starting out the wrong way. First things first, you can't just superimpose colors everywhere without taking every pixel into regard. When working in such a small medium, just the slightest change makes a gigantic difference in the final product.

So, one thing I want you to do next time is take a sprite, and count out every single color in it. Every single one, outlines, highlights, base, black, and white. Then, mark them off. I've done this with Nidoking.

This is where you can start building a color pallet. Make sure you have a correlating color with every color from the original, in the appropriate shades. This way, everything is replaced as they should be because you have the same number of colors. I used the color pallet from your recolor.

See how it's exactly the same as the above in terms of visibility, outlining, and general look? Well, that's what you want your product to be. At least for now. You can always bend the rules once you know them. So, this leads me to the next thing:

I want you to recolor this. Upon closer inspection, you'll see two color pallets. Number one is the original Breloom pallet. Number two is a custom pallet I came up with. I want you to replace all of the colors as they are presented on Breloom. Now, I'm also going to recolor Breloom, and I'll compare them at the end. After that's done, I want you to come up with a custom color pallet (doesn't have to be for Breloom) of your own, which we will both recolor with. If it fits, works nicely, and our recolors match up, we can move on to fusions. >:3
Oooo okay that definitely gives me more to work with than the Ditto. I'm gonna take a closer look at it. Thanks for sharing! <33
Sorry. :( I actually did but PC was stalling on me so I had to close it. I do have lots to say about ditto though so I'll get to it!
Okay cool! So, if you don't mind, I'm going to give you a bit of a regiment. When you have the time (certainly doesn't have to happen now) I want you to make a ditto for me. It's amorphous, generic looking, and simple on the scale. Just show me a ditto, the best one you can do, and I'll be able to get a grasp on where you stand from there. :)
No problem! I can either start you off with some good beginner tutorials, or you can dive right in! Tell me what skill level you're at. Where do you think you sit on the pixel scale? Could recolors be a challenge for you? Can you make a freehand circle? Fill me in. :)
Well, I won't pressure you. But if you ever find yourself curious and eager to learn, I'm always here. <3
Hey, if you're interested in learning CSS, I can teach you. :) Even pixel art I can help you with.
Oh hey go check out my gallery! I completely redesigned the first page. It's wicked girly, but I think you'll appreciate the coding and CSS. n_n
I haven't announced it yet, hehe. But I'll come up with something good. :)
Well of course I like it silly, but I'm not allowed to actually have an opinion on it, lest I risk a biased voting stage. ;)

It is a good icon though, and I'm very happy you submitted one. :)
You would have seen a post in Unapproved Challenges if it did. I looked at it yesterday during my break, but I didn't make a decision right then. I'm going to look again.
The bulky ones are my favorites, I just realized! (Except Lilligant, which I abuse sleeping powder+quiver dance, so quasi-bulk)

Favorite pokemon per gen: Lapras, Meganium, Milotic, Vespiquen, Lilligant, Florges.

I am not competive, but I do like status affecting moves, so I guess that might be another reason why I am so attracted to the bulky ones.

And yea, I love fighting Wolf's Team, at level 3 AND the level before andross. Though the sea level is my fave.
I don't know, now I want to do a marvel "avenger" theme.
Though, I think I will alternate between pokemon and non-pokemon themes, so...I might do the Mandibuzz theme this weekend.

I also love your Fox McCloud theme. StarFox 64 is definitely in my top 5 N64 games. Nintendo best be announcing a Wii U game soon!!!
    DAMMIT (╯°Д°)╯︵/(.□ . \)

I totally knew that was coming but I wasn't going to lie to you.

And yes! Enter icontest cause I'm offering more cool prizes~ also I'm extending it to Sunday so don't worry about entering it right away, you've got time.
I see. Yes, I'm sober now. I've been suffering from serious, serious cravings though lately. Not enough to actually go out and cop, but the temptation of "legal" drugs (ie nitrous, alcohol, etc) is an extremely heavy burden. Especially with midterms up now.
