  • I lift my guess from the prior VM. I'm guessing that the 3DS is designed to recognize the device and not allow connections with it. Do you have other games, like Mario Kart 7 for instance? Plug in an AR, then see if it lets you online. If not, that's the answer. I'll look around for other possibilities, however.
So you can use the AR, but not go online.

Seems like Nintendo is starting to crack down on AR use. Older models obviously do not recognize it, but they've set newer models to do so. They don't forbid you to use it, they just forbid you to go online WHILE using it as you could be cheating and using hacked Pokémon or something.

That's my take on why it wouldn't work, but you could always pose this question in the proper forum as well. I don't try to connect with my used older-model DS (besides, it can't), so I can't confirm anything else as far as going online, so this is just a guess.

Of course, yes, delete the games you don't use. That would be the best thing to do first.
What's the problem you're running into? I don't have it, so I can't speak from experience here, but I found this request for help somewhere and it said go to Youtube in there. There could be a specific thing you have to do with that particular version.

When I first got my DSi one, I cleared all the games I wasn't using from it. Created lots of memory and I've never had a problem (except the PC app. closes periodically if you do stuff in it for a while).
If the one you get says it does, it does. However, that model isn't in Canada. If the one purchased does NOT say 3DS on the front, it will NOT work with a 3DS. I have that one since I couldn't find the newest one here.

Might be better that way. Warranty maintained on the 3DS, I use the used model for the Action Replay (no warranty AFAIK).
It feels like it's been forever since I checked any of your Pokemon. Want to try and do some tonight?
