It is only for games from Japan, yes. Let me be clear. I have a copy of UM from here (Japan), but using CFW I can switch between two save files. One is in JPN language and the other is in ENG. I currently don't have a US copy as my family hasn't sent it to me. The ENG file is so I can play through the game and do stuff now without having to wait until Christmas to enjoy it. (Also I can then redeem Japanese Events in JPN and ENG, assuming I have enough codes.)

Oh, actually I'm working on it but haven't been able to get the code yet, but I could make use of it! I have two files this time around (one in JPN and another in ENG), so this would allow me to redeem my code on my ENG file. Can I trade you something for it? Or would you prefer it not cloned and just to have the original? I can do that too.

That's why you should try some of the other ways! At the very least Swap Breeding seems easier. Oh no yeah, like I said with Nintendo banning systems, it's not worth installing on your main system. I haven't heard anything about people using pirated copies of the game?? Unless you mean "there" IRL haha. We have no rules against CFW for things like copying saves and using it to RNG. It's actually super helpful because it allows you to do a lot of things. If you ever come across a spare system with old enough firmware, I think it's worth it to have it. It's surely made my life easier!

CFW can be tricky since Nintendo can ban you from WiFi if they detect you have it, so it's not worth the risk unless you have a second system to put it on. Ahh, so you choose to suffer, I see. Well to each their own. @w@

The RNG manipulation for this gen isn't that hard, but it does require CFW to do it easily. Idk, It's no more counting than you'd have to do for swap breeding, though it depends on a few things. The guides for it aren't too confusing and it's sure helped me.

Glad I could help! Lol the game can't "hate" anyone, but the RNG God is a fickle god. Still don't know how you do it, I could never stand to hatch so much. Luckily I learned how to do Egg RNG manipulation this gen tho, so that makes things easier.

Oh no, that has nothing to do with saving haha, only the clock. You can still save despite that. All of my games, Japanese and English, have that and they still work fine besides the time events being a little weird.

That's what makes it more involved and interesting! Though without a steady hand it can be tricky. Then again DexNav isn't a chain, you just have to find the Pokemon in the spot. In that way it's similar to Friend Safari and somewhat easier.

Mm yeah, that makes sense. I think that DexNav is still not active enough so that you can do other stuff as well, but it's not as straightforward as A button mashing haha.
