Sounds like you have a thing against ecchi / inappropriate stuff (which includes LGBT stuff I guess?). Not bad, just interesting for someone who consumes the media. Lots of anime has that, sort of par for the course, that most people I talk to tend to overlook it if it's not the subject of the anime. heh, I'd read light novels if I had the Japanese level for it. There are a ton over here that never make it into translation and look really cool. Hm, don't know that one.

That's fine! I'm certainly not saying you should give yuri a chance or anything, that would be rude haha, I just wanted to defend it a little bit. My favorite series is actually A Certain Scientific Railgun, which is about science and abilities and stuff. It gets pretty deep sometimes so it's really cool to read. It seems like we have pretty different tastes though, so I don't think I can recommend anything to you. @w@
P.S. It's a little random, but what version of the 7th Gen games do you have? I thought it was Moon but I don't remember. There is a shared serial code event going on where you get Solrock in Sun and Lunatone in Moon, but I can only get Solrock so I was wondering if you had Moon and would be interested in exchanging clones!

Well, to each their own. I use yuri to encompass anything that involves lesbian relationships (so shoujo-ai as well, not necessarily including explicit content). I like the tropes that appear in it, and often when you get a good mangaka they really display the struggles of being lesbian and I enjoy connecting with that. Uh, yuri and yaoi have been around for ages. Yaoi has always had a crazy following; yuri is only recently starting to be known more widely, which is nice since it means we get more good material rather than just trash port lol.
Silver Spoon was fun! I actually watched the anime just after I got here to Japan. (Also, I know a teacher who worked at the agricultural school they used for location scouting. She was there when they were filming!! Super cool!) Man, I haven't read Yotsuba in years, but it's definitely awesome. Maybe someday I will read it again, but I have a lot of other series to get to before that. @w@

I see! I'm not really that into romance haha. At least not straight romance. I read a lot of yuri if the premise seems okay.

I also haven't read that but I know of it! Interesting, I read the summary but didn't realize she had some supernatural ability. I'm not one for those kinds of stories though. :/
