I really really want to get into the series. Many of my friends like it a LOT. Mushishi is definitely a top priority for me haha.

Well, it would depend on you tbh. :p Did you like SAO and dot hack series? This one isn't like SAO as the action here is less. No romance either. It just concentrates on the world itself. Deals with a bit of politics and stuff and feels more like a light-hearted slice of life series near the end than an action series. I personally consider it my favorite recent series. KlK is second and Noragami is third. :3 I strongly recommend it. Try to watch at least 5-6 episodes before making up your mind. :p

Me? Well, I have been rewatching Gintama for the most part. My fave anime. :3 And then I've been trying to finish Soul Eater. :p completed Log Horizon, Kill la Kill and Noragami recently. Not much apart from that haha

It is actually an upcoming spin-off, haha. Will be more Slice-of-life ish than the original series. Will have cameos from the main characters of original series but I heard it will work as a standalone work as well. Might wanna give it a shot, maybe?

I still find it kinda funny though, because most countries use the Pound (lbs.) unit in measuring weight, but we use the Kilogram unit instead, so when someone tells me something like "I gained five pounds" I really don't get it, no offense, I mean one time I gained and lost 15 kilograms over the weekend, due to heavy homemade pizzas and then 4 hours of basic exercise.

Your goal seems pretty solid though, I am sure that you can definitely get to it even before the summer starts! :D
