  • Well, Celestial caves = four maps.

So, first half of Gulf, Isla del Luna, four for the Celestial Caves, and now Isla del Sol
    So, seven maps done. :3
Celestial Caves done, Isla Del Sol done. I'm thinking three more cities and then have you mass-script, we debug, bam, we got the next beta.

And mapping goes by pretty quickly. :P
    I dunno, like 50 maybe.
    MAYBE.
    I dunno.
    I'LL FIGURE IT OUT.

Celestial caves almost done, then it's the Isla Del Sol, the rest of the Gulf, and then it's time for the southeastern mainland. <3
Would you mind testing it in a clean ROM with a few Pokemon to see if it works? I'm gonna contact SQ in a second to see if the whole clearing the party thing would be feasible.
That's a problem for future Winter and Stud, there are no battles in this flashback. Just a conversation or two, some drama, and some preparation. That WOULD be something to figure out though, for the future.
Celestial caves link the celestial islands in the Larien Gulf (Isla del Luna/Isla del Sol). The islands are connected by an underground cave system called the Celestial Caves. Mostly ice, with a firey tunnel to the Isla del Sol. Mark and Leola both trained here, Mark being more or less brute force, while Leola being more the intellectual. Within the ice portion of the cave, Leola begins talking to the player, asking him questions as to why he's so hellbent on going after the Sinclaires and so on, when he really has nothing to gain from it. She has him solving the puzzles within the ice portion and continues asking him for his reasoning. Every time he beats a puzzle, he proves more intellectual and worthy of talking to Leola. After a while, she admits that the player reminds her a lot of Mark. She begins to tell him a story and her memory becomes to vivid that the player is actually transported into her memory, playing as Leola, and going through her story. Is that something you could script?
Hmm. You think the celestial caves would be too early a point to come into contact with one of the legendary trainers? I was revising the story, and I had an idea of the player coming into contact with the female, her guiding him and talking to him about some nonsense, and then the player being transported into one of her memories, walking around as her. Sound feasible?
Well, I don't feel like drawing, tbh. But, if I can recommend... see the city left of the brown dot at the very top, have a route going down, a city that leads to a beach with a sidequest. The route to the left of the aforementioned city, make it have an upward route stemming from it that can be a sort of forest. But, can only be accessed from a route going upwards from the upperleft-most city, then traversed downwards to access the main route again.
I dunno, I'll have a better depiction once I feel like drawing.
Actually, if you notice, the cave entrance is a deformed star. :3 hmm. It's not half bad, so you can start refining it now.
You'll be fine, noob. CALM DOWN.

And usually you don't want to go for it. But, the celestial islands are special case for me, I guess.
Maybe I'm just overtired, but I think it looks dope. You tell me, I guess?
