  • Ah you're new here too? I'm good too, just playing a bit of Wildstar actually. Didn't like it first but I've warmed up to it, cool game!
    Oh, it's no problem. It's just hard to keep up with 300+ people on your friends list, kind of like on facebook! lool but I do talk to a ton of people here and have many pokecommunity friends either way. Always room for more. [:
    Ah yes that user, I was one of his first friends when he joined PC but yeah he is apparently right. I seem to have been looked up to by quite a lot, especially some newbies.
    Well, it's something that takes quite a bit of effort but the best place to start is find a section you like and post a lot in there. I don't recall how I got the recognition I have now, but I guess it was due to posting in a lot of areas and making lots of friends.

    I'm pretty sure you can do it, just don't give up!
    We may have spoken a few times but we're more acquaintances than anything. xD; I'd really only consider people I talk to often on Skype or staff friends given how well we know each other. Most people on my friends list aren't actually my friends. :(
    Be sure not to be pushy about it or try too hard, though! The staff would notice that right away, haha.
    Hmm.. Lots of friends?? I only have like 30 something and maybe 50 messages.. That's not that good. And I'm not that liked anyway, people dislike how I disappear with huge promises for my life, and appear with nothing.
    XD uhh what do I say to that?? I'm not known or respected?? If I had to say uhh id say post a lot and be active? Also don't leave and comeback for like a week. Then leave for months at a time
    No problem! I'm happy to answer if you have any questions. =) I've always wondered how promotions worked back when I was a member and regular moderator but now I'm part of the group that actually chooses new staff. It's such a different experience. ^_^;
    Oh gosh, it really depends ahhaa.

    The higher staff really only choose moderators when one is needed in a particular section, like when an existing moderator quits or when there just aren't enough moderators to cover the area. We like when people report anything that breaks the rules, are approachable, have a pretty clean record when it comes to infractions (though infractions from a long time ago can be overlooked depending on severity as it's understandable we were all new/confused at some point), and are consistent with activity.. but those are just the basics. We do look into a lot when deciding on whether or not to promote someone.

    But yeah, it will take time. XD; Took me almost a year to be promoted! I became a mod in August 2012 but I was really nooby back then, lool.
